Crimson’s Winmore Academy, Jakkur Revolutionizes Legal Education, Successfully Launches India's First School-Based Moot Courtroom

Trailblazing initiative brings the CBSE Legal Studies curriculum to life through immersive, hands-on learning—equipping students with real-world skills for tomorrow.

Bengaluru, July 1, 2025 — In a landmark step for Indian school education, Winmore Academy Jakkur has officially inaugurated the country’s first school-based Moot Courtroom, bringing legal studies to life through immersive, real-world simulation. The initiative marks a bold shift from conventional instruction to hands-on, experiential learning—empowering students with critical life skills and civic awareness.

Designed as an advanced learning extension for the CBSE Legal Studies curriculum (Grades 11–12), the state-of-the-art courtroom replicates a real judicial setting—complete with a judge’s bench, witness stand, jury seating, and documentation systems. Students actively engage in debates, trial simulations, and witness examinations, developing essential proficiencies such as articulation, legal reasoning, public speaking, and analytical thinking.

“This pioneering initiative reflects our commitment to bridging theory and application,” said Husien Dohadwalla, Co-CEO, Crimson Schools.
“The Moot Courtroom empowers our learners not just to understand the law, but to experience its practice—preparing them to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose. It was inspiring to see 150–200 students from Grades 9 to 11 witness this milestone in action.”

Gracing the occasion was Mr. Vivek K. Chandy, Joint Managing Partner at JSA Advocates & Solicitors, one of India’s top law firms. Applauding the forward-thinking initiative, he remarked:

“Winmore Academy is setting the gold standard for early legal education. By integrating real-world legal experiences into school life, this program builds informed citizens who can think critically, reason ethically, and advocate fearlessly. I hope other institutions across India take inspiration from this.”

The Moot Courtroom initiative not only strengthens the legal education framework at the school level, but also aligns with a growing need to foster analytical, civic, and communication skills in future professionals. Through this model, Winmore offers early exposure to law and governance, particularly for students exploring careers in legal practice, public service, or any discipline rooted in advocacy and leadership.

As a member of the Crimson Schools network, Winmore Academy Jakkur continues to champion innovative, real-world learning experiences. With a presence across 15 schools and a vision to serve 50,000 students, Crimson stands at the forefront of educational transformation in India.
