New Delhi, | 15th February 2020: Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) along with MIT School of Government (MIT-SOG) is organizing a four-day Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad or Indian Student Parliament for which a Press Conference was held today in New Delhi. The press conference was addressed by Rahul Vishwanath Karad, Founder of Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad & School of Government (SOG), also the Executive President MIT-WPU; to announce and discuss about the 10th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad having a community strength of 80,000 members. The Sansad commences in the capital of India from February 20th to February 23rd, 2020 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Over 2,000 students from across 24 states and 400 universities will be participating in the 10th BCS.
The 4-day conference will see noted parliamentarians and society icons like Hon’ble Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shri. M Venkaiah Naidu; eight educationists, eight Assembly Speakers, eight Union Ministers, spiritual leaders like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Baba Ramdev and Kamlesh Patel will be interacting with budding politicians. Karad said, “These students will get opportunity to interact with Nobel laureate, MPs, Ministers and Speakers of Assembly of various states, Journalists, Union Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, Entrepreneurs and many such eminent personalities. Indian Student Parliament will award Captain Amarinder Singh as the best Chief Minister”.
The 10th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad will include eight sessions, around a diverse range of topics. Caste to Class or Class to Caste, Combating Terrorism, Insurgency and Naxalism, the 5 trillion economy and a mirror to India’s last seven decades – are some of the talking points outlined for the event.
The Sansad will end with honors for parliamentarians and politicians who have excelled across all party lines in their respective fields. These include the ideal Chief Ministers, Legislative Assembly Speakers, Legislative Council Chairmen, Youth Legislators and Youth Sarpanch honors.
“This kind of platform gives an opportunity to interact with political leaders. India unlike western democracies has a unique quality with population of over 130 crore, Karad said that there are around 33 lakh elected representative in the country from Panchayat to Parliament and the institute tries to make these students understand the working style”, Karad added.
In the multilayered Indian political system a select few educated people appear in Panchayat politics, which needs to be scaled up. This has been the motive behind starting the course at the MIT School of Government and organizing Indian Student Parliament in which people from every state are joining. To sum up, Karad said that as freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale told Mahatma Gandhiji about spiritualization of politics, so the intention of Indian Student Parliament is somewhat similar to that idea.
