Bisleri International Partners with Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve to Drive Plastic Waste Management and Wildlife Conservation

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India | 30th July 2025: In a powerful move towards environmental sustainability, Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., through its CSR initiative Bottles for Change, has partnered with Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra’s oldest and largest national park. This collaboration aims to integrate responsible plastic waste management and community participation within the eco-sensitive reserve, reinforcing the importance of conservation-led development.

The initiative was officially launched in the presence of key dignitaries including Shri Anand Reddy (Deputy Conservator of Forests – Core), Shri Vivek Nathu (Assistant Conservator of Forests – Core), Shri Vishal Vaidya (Range Forest Officer – Kolara Core), Smt. Yogita Madavi (Range Forest Officer – Kolara Buffer), and Mr. K. Ganesh (Director – Sustainability & Corporate Affairs, Bisleri International) among others.

Tadoba: A Biodiversity Hotspot

Located in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve covers 1,727 sq. km and is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and rare bird species. Divided into 12 forest ranges, the reserve lies about 150 km from Nagpur and attracts thousands of visitors annually, making it an ideal location for sustainable tourism practices.

Sustainable Initiatives Under Bottles for Change

As part of the collaboration, the Bottles for Change program has implemented multiple plastic waste management touchpoints across the reserve:

  • Educational display boards have been installed along forest roads to raise awareness about responsible plastic disposal.
  • Green benches, upcycled from PET bottle caps under the ‘Bench of Dreams’ initiative, promote sustainability through reuse.
  • Strategically placed plastic collection bins encourage source segregation and recycling.

These interventions aim to reduce plastic pollution, promote a circular economy, and foster eco-conscious behavior among tourists and locals alike.

Leadership Speaks on Sustainability and Conservation

Mr. K. Ganesh, Director of Sustainability & Corporate Affairs at Bisleri International, stated:

“Our partnership with Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Effective plastic waste management in such biodiverse areas is essential to protect wildlife while enabling a circular plastic economy. We are deeply grateful to the Maharashtra Forest Department for their support in making this initiative a reality.”

Shri Anand Reddy, Deputy Conservator of Forests (Core), added:

“Wildlife conservation is vital for our planet’s future. By preserving biodiversity, we directly contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), creating a balance where nature and humanity can thrive together.”

Scaling Impact Across India

This partnership aligns with Bottles for Change’s broader mission to build a circular plastic economy and protect biodiversity-rich landscapes. To further this goal, Bisleri has established Material Recovery Centers (MRCs) operated by local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in six locations across four states, including:

  • Chennai (Tamil Nadu)
  • Sawai Madhopur (Rajasthan)
  • Mumbai (Maharashtra)
  • Goa

These centers help ensure efficient plastic collection, segregation, and recycling at the grassroots level.

A Greener Future Through Collaboration

Bisleri International continues to lead by example in creating eco-friendly partnerships that emphasize awareness, community participation, and tangible action. Through the Bottles for Change initiative, the company remains dedicated to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable India.
