Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, India | 10th February 2026: The Shetkari Samruddhi Project, supported by the Pernod Ricard India Foundation (PRIF) and implemented by ISAP India Foundation, has been launched to benefit over 20,000 farmers across 20 villages in the Jalna and Sambhajinagar districts of Maharashtra, including the Sillod block. The initiative adopts an institution-led development model, positioning Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) as the primary service delivery mechanism to promote sustainable agriculture and higher farm incomes.
The project focuses on strengthening farmer institutions by improving access to quality agricultural inputs, promoting scientific soil health management, expanding farm mechanization through Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs), delivering structured capacity-building programmes, and enhancing market linkages. These integrated interventions aim to boost productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and improve farmers’ participation in organized markets.
As part of the project rollout, Shivmaka Farmers Producer Company Limited is being developed as a last-mile service platform for farmers. An FPO input shop was inaugurated to ensure timely availability of affordable and high-quality farm inputs. The FPO is also being equipped with a soil testing machine to enable data-driven nutrient management and a Custom Hiring Centre offering equipment such as threshers and boom sprayers on a pay-per-use basis, helping small and marginal farmers reduce drudgery and operational expenses.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Gaurav Vats, Chief Operating Officer, ISAP India Foundation, said the Shetkari Samruddhi Project represents a long-term investment in farmer institutions. By strengthening FPO governance, service delivery, and market orientation, the initiative seeks to create sustainable and scalable impact across Jalna and Sambhajinagar districts.
Ms. Anantika Singh, Senior Director – CSR, Pernod Ricard India, highlighted PRIF’s focus on building resilient farmer institutions rather than short-term interventions. She stated that the project strengthens the entire agricultural ecosystem by integrating soil health, mechanization, capacity building, and market access to deliver measurable and lasting outcomes for farmers. Ms. Monika Jain, Lead CSR, PRIF, interacted with FPO Board members and emphasized the role of service-oriented FPOs in helping farmers adopt improved practices, diversify livelihoods, and achieve income sustainability, with a special focus on women’s participation and inclusion.
A representative from the State Agriculture Department engaged with farmers on relevant government schemes and opportunities for convergence through FPO-led platforms. Private sector partners from the agri-input ecosystem, including Advanta, Biome, and Grow Indigo, supported technology dissemination and improved farming practices. On the market linkage front, Ayakart Private Limited and Shri Swami Samarth FPOL held discussions with FPO leadership to explore aggregation and market access opportunities.
Project progress and early results were presented by Ms. Tanushree, M&E Head, who shared key implementation milestones, farmer service uptake, and the monitoring framework tracking outcomes related to soil health, institutional strengthening, and farmer benefits. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Shivani Negi, Project Manager, ensuring smooth execution and multi-stakeholder participation.
With strong representation from women farmers and Self-Help Group (SHG) members, the Shetkari Samruddhi Project also promotes inclusivity and livelihood diversification, including the development of value-added products as part of its broader rural enterprise strategy.
