AI-Enabled NDT Robotics Startup Octobotics Raises INR 10 Crore in Series Seed Funding
  • Navam Capital spearheaded the funding round, with additional backing from BYT Capital.
  • Octobotics’ solutions are already deployed by prominent organizations such as the Indian Navy, IOCL, Saudi S‑Chem, BPCL, HPCL, Aarti Industries, and GSFC.

New Delhi | February 5, 2026: Octobotics Tech Pvt Ltd, an India‑based industrial robotics startup, has successfully closed its Series Seed funding round of approximately ₹10 crore. The round was led by Navam Capital, with participation from BYT Capital.

The funds will be deployed to accelerate product development, strengthen field validation, and support international expansion across India, Singapore, and the Middle East.

Founded in 2020 by Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, Octobotics develops AI‑enabled, vertically integrated Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) robotics platforms engineered for harsh industrial and rail environments.

The company currently serves leading organizations including:

  • Indian Navy
  • IOCL
  • Saudi S‑Chem
  • BPCL
  • HPCL
  • Aarti Industries
  • GSFC

Octobotics recorded ₹2 crore in annual revenue in FY25, underscoring strong early traction.

Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, Co‑Founders of Octobotics, said: “This capital will support R&D for vertical integration and the pursuit of IECEx and ATEX certifications, while expanding our operations in India, Singapore, and the Middle East. Our distribution‑led approach allows us to deploy systems that assist human operators and reduce manual tasks in hazardous environments.”

Dr. Anjan Ray, Investment Partner at Navam Capital, added: “Octobotics is addressing specific maintenance challenges within critical infrastructure. Their vertically integrated technology stack and scalable distribution model provide a clear path for serving the global inspection market.”

Asset‑intensive industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Marine, Power, Fertilizers, and Rail face increasing competitiveness driven by safety, operability, and asset uptime. Conventional manual inspection methods struggle with high‑risk zones including corroded surfaces, elevated structures, confined spaces, and complex geometries.

Octobotics addresses these challenges by:

  • Automating hazardous inspection tasks.
  • Converting field measurements into actionable asset integrity intelligence.
  • Enabling earlier detection of defects, corrosion, and material loss.
  • Delivering predictive analytics for a decision‑ready view of asset health.

Founders’ Background

  • Ishan Bhatnagar: Formerly managed maritime operations and automation at BW Maritime, Singapore.
  • Gulshan Kumar: Served as Operations & Maintenance Engineer at Belgian dredging major D.E.M.E.
  • Both founders first connected at MERI Kolkata and returned to India inspired by the “Make in India” mission to build field‑ready inspection solutions for critical infrastructure.

Product Portfolio

  • PA RailScan – PAUT‑based system for rail track weld inspection, enabling consistent defect detection and scalable inspection quality.
  • Weld Sensei – Automated inspection platform for precision data acquisition in hazardous environments.
  • Reach Master – Specialized NDT tool for inspection tasks in hard‑to‑reach and high‑elevation zones.
