Amidst lockdown, Bright Tutee trains 40,000 teachers on online pedagogy

5th June 2020: As COVID-19 pandemic resulted in closure of schools and pushed educational institutes to embrace technology for learning, this lockdown phase has also turned out to be a nightmare for teachers in terms of delivering online classes to the students. This is simply because of the suddenness with which they have been plunged into online teaching with little or no preparation at all.

To overcome this challenge amid lockdown, Bright Tutee, a New Delhi-based edutech company and India’s fastest growing online learning platform has trained 40,000 teachers from various private and state board schools of Rajasthan, Orissa, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The crux of the training session was to impart among teachers how to teach, how to retain student attention online, to ensure that the students don’t lag behind on their curriculum, and are able to keep pace with it. Over 70% teachers who attended the training session were from tier 2 & 3 cities.

Commenting on the noble initiative, Anant Goyal, Director and Founder at Bright Tutee said, “With COVID-induced lockdown, it has been a painful time for the students but more for the teachers to make this shift in the teaching-learning process from offline to online. We have been witnessing a massive level of online learning engagement on our platform post the virus outbreak. As an edtech platform, we are responsible to prioritise the welfare and educational needs in the times of crisis.”

“As the country is bracing for the ‘new normal’, we decided to help our teachers learn new ways to teach in an online environment. It is our privilege to support educators by providing video testimonials for the teachers as part of their training material. This will help them find ways to get students and education back on the track.”

Kavitha Prasad, School Teacher from Jayanagr Bengaluru said, “The session on How to conduct online classes using simple tools was very informative. As our school is conducting classes online, I got to know about various tools and its applications,”

The technology-led online learning platform also launched free live classes on YouTube for students of class 6th to 8th standard across multiple education boards in India in April amidst COVID-19 lockdown to empower the online learning process.
