Delhi, India | 22nd August 2025: Students from Amity International School, Sector-46 Gurugram, Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, and Amity International School, Noida — all part of the prestigious Amity Group of Schools — proudly represented India at the globally acclaimed International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) held at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, USA.
The four-day ISSDC 2025 is one of the world’s most challenging space design competitions, where student teams simulate real-world industry projects and design futuristic human settlements in outer space. This year’s mission tasked participants with conceptualizing a floating settlement in Venus’s atmosphere for the extraction, refining, and export of metals and atmospheric gases.
Each international team, or “company,” consisted of around 64 students from across the globe, collaborating across critical departments such as Structures, Infrastructure, Human Factors, Mission Systems, and Business Planning.
The Amity delegation was part of Flectel Constructors, working alongside peers from the United Kingdom, China, Mexico, Romania, Italy, and other Indian schools. In an intense 40-hour design marathon, the students developed and presented their detailed proposal, titled Ariadnav, showcasing innovation, technical brilliance, and teamwork. The final project was evaluated by a panel of international aerospace experts through a 30-minute presentation and Q&A session.
Applauding the students’ success, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, said:
“This milestone makes us immensely proud, not only for the achievement but also for the courage, creativity, and collaborative spirit our students displayed on this global platform. Their outstanding work at NASA truly reflects the Amity ethos — nurturing leaders who think beyond boundaries, embrace challenges, and innovate for a better future.”
The achievement reinforces Amity’s commitment to STEM education and global exposure, inspiring young learners to dream bigger and aim for new horizons — not just reaching for the stars, but going beyond them.
