Bangalore Police, Bangalore Hospitals, and Aarohana Foundation Launch Police Marshals Initiative and Awareness Program at RV Engineering College

Kengeri, Bangalore – December 19, 2024: The Bangalore Police, in partnership with Bangalore Hospitals and the Aarohana Foundation, launched the “Police Marshals for Kengeri Subdivision” initiative at RV Engineering College. This impactful program aimed to raise awareness about drug abuse, cybercrime, and life-saving CPR skills, empowering students to play an active role in building a safer and healthier society.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Girish S., IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bangalore West Division, along with Mr. Basavaraj A. Teli, ACP Kengeri Subdivision, Mr. Sanjeev Gowda, Inspector, Kengeri Police Station, and Dr. K.N. Subramanya, Principal, RV Engineering College.

Key Highlights of the Event:

  • Student Performances:
    Students from RV Engineering College delivered a thought-provoking mime on drug abuse and a comedy drama addressing cybercrime, effectively raising awareness through creative expression.
  • Life-Saving CPR Training:
    Dr. Gunjan Rai, Head of Emergency Services at Bangalore Hospital, Kengeri, led a hands-on session on Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR. Around 450 participants were trained in essential life-saving techniques.
  • Inspiring Addresses by Dignitaries:
    • Mr. Girish S., DCP Bangalore West Division, emphasized the devastating societal impact of drug abuse and encouraged students to actively support the Police Marshals initiative to strengthen community safety.
    • Mr. Basavaraj A. Teli, ACP Kengeri Subdivision, educated students on the dangers of cybercrime, highlighting the importance of responsible social media usage and online vigilance.
    • Dr. K.N. Subramanya, Principal of RV Engineering College, underscored the value of such awareness programs, urging students to become role models in promoting cyber safety and health consciousness.

Police Marshal Induction:

The event culminated with a formal induction ceremony, where dignitaries capped the participating students, officially designating them as Police Marshals.

This initiative empowers youth to collaborate with law enforcement authorities in tackling critical societal issues, such as drug abuse and cybercrime, while promoting health awareness. Through the Police Marshals program, the Bangalore Police aims to cultivate a proactive, informed, and socially responsible generation committed to fostering a safe and resilient community.
