In the initial stage of expansion, the company will be focusing on the northern part of the country. Detel aims to reach to the last mile customers by creating offline experience centre and lead the way for its mission #connecting40croreIndians
Detel Shoppe will be exclusive stores of Detel, which is designed to complement the company’s online-first business strategy and also attract new users. It will also serve as a destination for its fast-growing community to experience and purchase Detel Products. Detel Shoppe will provide its customers with the opportunity to explore and assess an array of its products in different categories.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Yogesh Bhatia, MD, Detel, said, “We have already opened our two stores in Rajasthan- one of the potential cities in North which contributes a major chunk of sales volume in affordable segment. We will be focusing on smaller cities for our offline expansion this year and will evaluate foraying into Tier 1 cities next year, based on the rollout and performance of these offline stores”
“By entering into the offline market, we are eliminating the multiple layers and involvement of third parties by directly connecting to our customers”, he further added.
Detel has made some strategic tie-up with stores like Reliance Market, Viveks, Max Spar Metro Cash & Carry, etc. through their association with B2Baada to make its product available in Tier 2 cities. However, now with its exclusive store, the company plans to capture the major share in the offline market.
