Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Delivers Keynote Address at GITAM University

Vishakhapatnam, April 29, 2024: The Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, delivered a compelling keynote address at GITAM University’s Vizag Campus for the Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus Dialogue program. Sitharaman lauded the significant strides made in advancing India towards Viksit Bharat and encouraged active participation in this transformative movement. Sribharat Mathukumilli, President of GITAM University, extended a warm welcome to the Union Minister and felicitated her during the event.

During her address, Sitharaman urged students to become Viksit Bharat Ambassadors, emphasizing their potential as drivers of change and growth for the nation. Reflecting on India’s economic journey, she highlighted the need for comprehensive efforts to ensure sustained GDP growth and underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

The event, attended by over 1,200 students from diverse fields, featured interactive sessions and insightful discussions on various aspects of India’s progress and the path to Viksit Bharat. Students actively engaged in dialogues about economic reforms, education, and entrepreneurship, demonstrating their commitment to contributing to India’s development.

In addition to engaging with students, Sitharaman participated in a session with leading professionals and entrepreneurs, discussing the nation’s progress and the role of professionals in driving economic growth. Sribharat Mathukumilli commended the Government’s efforts and emphasized the pivotal role of students in nation-building.

The Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus Dialogue program, hosted by GITAM University, exemplifies the institution’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering dialogue on critical issues.
