Chennai, India – June 12, 2025 – Garuda Aerospace, one of India’s leading drone technology companies, has unveiled its state-of-the-art Agri-Drone Indigenization Facility in Chennai, marking a significant milestone in advancing domestic drone manufacturing, innovation, and skill development. The facility was inaugurated by Shri Kamlesh Paswan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development, alongside the launch of 300 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and the DGCA-approved Train the Trainer (TTT) program, reinforcing India’s commitment to self-reliance in drone technology.
Revolutionizing India’s Agri-Drone Ecosystem
Spanning 35,000 square feet, the Agri-Drone Indigenization Facility is India’s first-of-its-kind hub, designed to support cutting-edge research, manufacturing, and testing of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The facility aims to locally produce 7 subsystems and 33 components, in alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Additionally, the 300 Centres of Excellence will provide after-sales support, facilitate employment generation, and train the next generation of drone pilots, contributing to the growth of India’s drone economy.
Empowering the Future with Skill Development & Industry Collaboration
The Train the Trainer (TTT) program, Garuda Aerospace’s flagship skill development initiative, is designed to create certified drone instructors by offering comprehensive training in:
