India Accelerates Clean Energy Transition: GEAPP Announces ENTICE 2.0 Winners and DUET Program Launch

New Delhi, Delhi, India | 3rdSeptember 2025: The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) hosted its Alliance in Action Convening at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, bringing together innovators, investors, distribution companies (DISCOMs), and policymakers to advance India’s clean energy transition.

The highlight of the event was the announcement and felicitation of the winners of the Energy Transitions Innovation Challenge (ENTICE) 2.0, GEAPP’s flagship program that bridges the gap between clean-tech innovation and deployment. The convening also witnessed the signing of multiple MoUs with investment partners to unlock catalytic capital for scaling winning solutions.

In a significant move, GEAPP and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) signed an MoU to launch the Digitalization of Utilities for Energy Transition (DUET) program, which will be piloted at two substations in Delhi to drive digital transformation in India’s power distribution sector.

ENTICE 2.0: Driving AI-Powered Clean Energy Innovation

ENTICE addresses the critical funding and deployment gap faced by clean-tech innovators by providing grants, mentorship, and market access. The second edition focused on two problem statements:

  1. Developing AI tools to analyze behind-the-meter (BTM) energy consumption patterns and create digital twins of appliances.
  2. Using AI-powered analytics on smart meter data to identify large-scale flexible assets and detect industrial inefficiencies.

Through partnerships with DISCOMs such as Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) and BRPL, startups gained access to real-world data and pilot opportunities, accelerating market readiness.

Winning Startups of ENTICE 2.0

  • Enlog – Provides autonomous energy intelligence through a patented IoT + AI plug-and-play device that reduces electricity consumption and extends appliance life.
  • Flock Energy – Offers an AI-driven platform that disaggregates smart meter data into appliance-level insights, customized for India’s energy intervals.
  • Trillectric – Delivers a modular solution to flag inefficiencies and flexibility from smart meter data, enabling rapid industrial deployment.
  • Faclon Labs – Integrates AI, Big Data, and energy systems to optimize consumption with real-time diagnostics, anomaly detection, and demand forecasting.

Funding Commitments to Scale Clean-Tech Solutions

To accelerate deployment, leading investment partners including AWE Funds, Synapses, Theia Ventures, ZeCa Capital, Spectrum Impact, and Ankur Capital signed MoUs pledging financial support and implementation assistance for the winning solutions, subject to due diligence.

Gurdeep Singh, Chairman & MD of NTPC, felicitated the winners, stating:

“Innovation thrives when diverse minds come together to challenge conventions and co-create solutions. The Alliance in Action event demonstrates how constructive disruptors can address our toughest energy challenges.”

Woochong Um, CEO of GEAPP, emphasized collaboration:

“India’s clean energy strides prove how innovation and strong policy support can drive transformation. The urgency of climate change calls for governments, businesses, and philanthropy to work together to unlock capital and scale solutions.”

Spotlight Sessions: Solar Funds and Decentralized Renewable Energy

The convening featured a fireside chat with Ashish Khanna (DG, International Solar Alliance), Woochong Um (CEO, GEAPP), and Saurabh Kumar (VP – India, GEAPP) on the role of the Multi Donor Trust Fund in financing high-impact solar projects.

A panel discussion on ‘Economic Development through Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE)’ highlighted how localized renewable solutions can drive inclusive growth, moderated by Samit Mitra, Managing Director, Country Delivery – India, GEAPP.

Saurabh Kumar, VP – India, GEAPP, added:

“India’s journey towards energy independence is an alliance-driven mission. Programs like ENTICE provide the collaborative platform needed to scale climate-tech innovation and build a resilient grid.”

Looking Ahead: ENTICE 3.0

Building on the success of ENTICE 2.0, GEAPP announced ENTICE 3.0, which will expand focus on deep tech innovation, grid resilience, and digitalization-led energy efficiency, further accelerating India’s renewable energy transition.
