19th December 2024, New Delhi: MyGold, India’s pioneering gold mobilization platform, and Temple Connect, a leader in temple digitization and community engagement, have announced a transformative collaboration with the launch of the Swarna Daan initiative. This initiative aims to revive the ancient tradition of temple gold donations while adapting to modern financial solutions. The program invites devotees to contribute gold starting from as little as INR 10, reinforcing temples as both spiritual and economic pillars of the community. The partnership, unveiled in New Delhi, is set to onboard 1,000 temples across India by the end of 2025.

The Swarna Daan initiative blends India’s rich cultural legacy with cutting-edge technology, allowing temples to grow their resources sustainably. It also enhances devotee engagement by simplifying the donation process. With the use of QR codes or the MyGold app, devotees can easily contribute gold, starting from INR 10, fostering a stronger, more inclusive relationship between temples and their communities.

Through MyGold, India’s first Gold Leasing Platform, temples can increase their gold holdings over time. By accepting gold donations, they benefit from the consistent 11% CAGR growth in gold prices, enabling them to grow their resources independently, without relying on external funding.

Amol Bansal, Founder of MyGold, shared, “At MyGold, we blend tradition with innovation, and the Swarna Daan initiative is a testament to that vision. By enabling devotees to contribute gold, we are helping temples grow their assets sustainably. In collaboration with Temple Connect, we aim to drive a movement that strengthens India’s cultural and economic fabric, rekindling the spirit of ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’.”

The Swarna Daan initiative revolutionizes temple donation management by accepting 24kt gold. Temples can significantly benefit by increasing their holdings, backed by the historical growth in gold prices. Donations are securely stored with MMTC-PAMP, a Government of India undertaking, ensuring transparency and accountability. Temples gain real-time access to their gold assets through a dedicated digital dashboard.

Girish Vasudev Kulkarni, Founder of Temple Connect, added, “We are excited to partner with MyGold to bring the Swarna Daan initiative to life. This collaboration blends tradition with technology, enabling devotees to contribute meaningfully to temples in a simple and efficient manner. Together, we aim to ensure temples thrive as centers of spirituality, culture, and economic prosperity.”

The Swarna Daan initiative empowers temples to transform idle gold into an appreciating asset that supports future generations. With flexible, 24/7 access to physical gold or its cash equivalent, temples can fund community initiatives, welfare programs, and infrastructure projects without limitations.

MyGold and Temple Connect are not just launching an initiative; they are reigniting a movement to preserve India’s heritage while building a sustainable future for its temples and communities.
