15th November 2019: On the eve of World Diabetes Day, Prana Centre for Integrative Medicine organised a workshop at its Golf Course road centre. The workshop elucidated the role of integrative medicine in managing diabetes. Leading Physician Dr. Ashutosh Shukla, Founder and Medical Director, PCIM along with a team of doctors and dieticians conducted the workshop benefitting more than 70 patients.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of both youngsters and elderly patients. Diabetes is severely endemic in India; with a high share of the world diabetes patients, the nation has second highest patient count in the world. Diabetes is a lifestyle disease that is spreading at a rapid pace among high income group individual. Gurugram being home to a large number of high net worth individuals has a considerable percentage of its populace suffering from this disease.

Addressing the attendees Dr. Shukla said, “Diabetes is a disease caused by multi-factorial reasons; its management should be multidisciplinary. Integrative medicine approach is the most effective strategy to manage it. Transformative power of lifestyle changes can reduce pill burden and improve quality of life for people suffering from diabetes”

The workshop was also addressed by Dr Arjun Dang, CEO at Dr. Dang’s Lab, Ms Ishi Khosla, celebrity nutritionist, Dr Suryamani, Physiotherapy expert and managing director at GoodHAb, Dr. Ashima Shukla, CEO at Prana Centre for Integrative Medicine and Ms. Kanika Manchanda, Yoga expert at PCIM.  

Mr M.N. Ravishankar, CEO, Jindal Power was one of the beneficiaries of the workshop, talking about his experience of integrative medicine he said, “I suffer from diabetes and had been undergoing various sorts of medication until I discovered integrative medicine at Prana Centre for Integrative Medicine.
