Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India | 28th July 2025: In a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and youth talent, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) successfully hosted the SIMATS Trophy 2025, a major Chennai Regional Level Inter-School Sports Competition. Held at the state-of-the-art SIMATS Sports Complex, the event attracted over 4,500 students from 100+ schools across Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur districts.
Multi-Sport Extravaganza for School Athletes
The SIMATS Trophy 2025 featured a dynamic lineup of indoor and outdoor sports, including:
- Team Sports: Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Kho-Kho
- Track & Field Events: 100m, 400m, and 800m races, Long Jump, Shot Put, and the 4x100m Relay
Students competed in three categories – Juniors, Seniors, and Super Seniors – showcasing exceptional athletic skill and team spirit throughout the day-long event.

The event was organized under the inspiring leadership of Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, Founder and Chancellor of SIMATS. The grand inaugural ceremony was honored by:

- The prestigious “Overall SIMATS Trophy” for the best-performing school
