New Delhi | 25 September 2026: SkyPulse Solutions IFSC Pvt Ltd and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic framework for the acquisition, financing, leasing, deployment, and lifecycle support of HAL‑manufactured helicopters.
The proposed 30‑helicopter programme, valued at ₹2,491 crore, will combine HAL’s indigenous aerospace capabilities with SkyPulse’s aviation leasing and financing expertise at GIFT City IFSC.
Programme Details
- Phase 1 (2027–2029): Acquisition of 10 helicopters.
- Phase 2 (2030 onwards): Acquisition of 20 additional helicopters.
- Mix of twin‑engine and single‑engine helicopters, subject to technical and commercial evaluations.
- Deliveries phased based on production availability, financing closure, customer demand, certification, and regulatory approvals.
Strategic Objectives
- Develop commercially sustainable solutions for wider deployment of Indian‑manufactured helicopters.
- Support applications across civil, governmental, and mission‑critical sectors including:
- Emergency medical services (HEMS).
- Disaster response and search & rescue.
- Regional connectivity (UDAN).
- Tourism and pilgrimage.
- Government aviation and charter services.
Lifecycle Support Ecosystem
- Integrated support covering spare parts, maintenance, engineering, and training.
- Opportunities for skilled jobs and training across aviation operations, engineering, and MRO.
- Joint Working Group may be established to evaluate technical, commercial, financing, and implementation requirements.
Economic Impact
- Projected to generate 450 direct high‑skilled aviation positions.
- Equivalent to 1,350 direct job‑years across rollout.
- Supporting 2,745 economy‑wide jobs and 8,235 total job‑years nationally.
- Stimulus to regional aviation hubs and supply chains.
