Mumbai, Maharashtra, India | 21st January 2026: VinFast’s electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, have achieved the highest 5-star safety certification from Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), reinforcing the company’s strong engineering standards and customer-first approach in the Indian automotive market.

According to the official Bharat NCAP crash test results, both models earned 5-star ratings across the two key safety parameters—Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). The VinFast VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 points in AOP and 44.41 out of 49 points in COP, while the VF 7 registered an impressive 28.54/32 in AOP and 45.25/49 in COP, highlighting superior protection for occupants across all age groups.

In detailed crash assessments, both electric SUVs demonstrated outstanding performance. During frontal impact tests, protection scores for the head, neck, and upper legs of both driver and front passenger reached the maximum 4.000 points under the Bharat NCAP scale. In side impact tests, VF 6 and VF 7 achieved full scores of 16.000/16.000 for adult occupants and 8.000/8.000 for child occupants, reflecting robust structural integrity and restraint systems.

The vehicles also performed strongly in the pole side impact test, a high-risk crash scenario. The head injury assessment values were recorded at 109 for VF 6 and 131 for VF 7, significantly below Bharat NCAP’s critical threshold of 700, indicating effective head protection and advanced safety engineering.

Bharat NCAP, implemented by the Government of India and aligned with global standards such as Global NCAP, evaluates vehicle safety through rigorous crash testing. A 5-star rating confirms that the VF 6 and VF 7 meet the most stringent safety norms currently applicable in India’s rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

VinFast’s commitment to safety has also been validated internationally. Earlier, the VinFast VF 8 earned a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating and outperformed over 15 global automakers, securing five out of six safety awards from the organisation in 2024—further underscoring the brand’s consistent focus on occupant protection.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, said, “The 5-star Bharat NCAP ratings for VF 6 and VF 7 mark a significant milestone for VinFast in India. These results reflect the robust engineering foundation of our electric vehicles and our commitment to meeting stringent safety standards. We will continue to invest in product excellence, delivering EVs that are technologically advanced, environmentally responsible, and provide customers with confidence and peace of mind.”

Manufactured at VinFast’s Tamil Nadu facility, the VF 6 and VF 7 are premium electric SUVs designed to meet high expectations for safety, technology, and everyday usability. Built on a 5-star-rated EV-dedicated platform, both models feature seven airbags and advanced ADAS technologies (variant-dependent), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Lane Change Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Detection, enhancing driver assistance and collision avoidance in diverse traffic conditions.

The VF 6 and VF 7 are integral to VinFast’s expanding EV ecosystem in India, which includes local manufacturing, retail operations, charging infrastructure, and aftersales services. Through strategic partnerships and an integrated approach, VinFast aims to deliver a seamless and future-ready electric mobility experience for Indian consumers.
