Bengaluru, India (03 January, 2018): WeWork—the platform for creators that provides the space, community and services to help people make a life, not just a living—announced that, following the success of WeWork Galaxy, it officially opened WeWork Embassy Golf Links (EGL) on 02 November, 2017, creating workspace for more than 1,600 new members. In addition, WeWork Koramangala, located in Bengaluru’s vibrant startup hub, opened its doors for 750 new members on 02 January, 2018.

Located in the marquee Embassy Golf Links Business Park, WeWork EGL sits right in the heart of surrounding IT corridors and is strategically located close to the headquarters of many global enterprises. Interweaving collaborative spaces, private offices, and conference rooms across its six floors, the light-filled space is designed to help members feel inspired at work.

On the other hand, Koramangala is known as the “test lab” for startups across the country. Well-connected with the public transportation network, WeWork Koramangala’s strategic location in Bengaluru’s vibrant start-up hub is a great fit for SMEs. Spanning across five floors, the space features a terrace, private offices, conference rooms, and wellness rooms. With SMEs converging to create a thriving work culture, WeWork’s global community and services will bring to life a new sense of creativity and innovation for businesses.

With the launch of these spaces, WeWork will provide room for a total of 4,400+ members in India, where 40% of WeWork members hail from large enterprises and SMEs. In particular, WeWork India’s enterprise membership also constitutes about 50% of its total membership, due to the significant demand for collaborative, engaging and effective workspace solutions in India. WeWork will help these enterprise companies tap into the extensive global network that it has built while also facilitating greater engagement with the local community of entrepreneurs and creators.

“With the macro societal shift of people seeking more personal fulfillment by working on projects they are passionate about; we see a huge opportunity to help more people find that meaning on a daily basis at WeWork. By launching two new vibrant communities in Bengaluru, we’re helping to accelerate the growth of entrepreneurs, startups and established international enterprises within India,” said Karan Virwani, General Manager at WeWork India, “Together with great feedback from our members after the launch of WeWork in Bengaluru and Mumbai, these openings are also a testament to WeWork India striving to contribute to the local economy and business ecosystem.”

“With more enterprises and SMEs entering Bengaluru, WeWork’s new locations will largely diversify our tenant base and contribute to a new dynamic in this diverse city.” said Abdul Rehman, Co – Owner at WeWork Galaxy, “With the city’s potential as a hub for entrepreneurship, we are confident of strengthening the local neighborhood and business ecosystem.”

WeWork welcomes global companies operating in WeWork’s new locations — such as Microsoft — as well as SMEs — such as Miller & Camron, Megshala (NGO), AA Hospitality and Get Gorgeous — into WeWork’s India community. Along with WeWork’s continued efforts to engage with its communities and extend its reach in India, WeWork is committed to its community in India and will continue to innovate and encourage human connection. Through WeWork’s spaces that feature the best of design, technology, and services, WeWork will help to humanize the way people work and live.
