New Delhi | 19th August 2021: In India, data reveals that every eight minutes, one woman dies due to cervical cancer. Cervical Cancer ranks as one of most common female cancer in India. India continues to contribute 1/3rd of Global Cervical Cancer Burden.
Human papillomavirus (HPV), an extremely common virus worldwide which affects most people in their lifetime, is responsible for the Cervical Cancer burden. However, the good news is that cancers and diseases caused by HPV, can be prevented, if detected properly and quickly treated. Regular screening and vaccination can reduce the burden of this disease
The Apex Chamber ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) in association with Cancer Foundation of India (CFI) is bringing a series of scientific and purpose-driven conversations on “Empowering Preventive Healthcare for Women: Series on Prevention of Cervical Cancer” with CFI as knowledge partner.
Today more than ever the entire world recognises the importance of vaccines, as part of preventive health. The proposed series will focus on raising awareness on prevention from Cervical cancer through timely vaccinations, screening and treatment. The first session of this series is scheduled to be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 05:00 PM.
