We are publishing an interview of Ms. Swetha Mulgund, founder, AOC Production, which offers a complete range of strategic video production services that includes preliminary steps to the final cut.
About the founders
Swetha Mulgund is the founder of AOC Production. She always had a passion to tell stories. She founded AOC Production with a unique vision- to strategize video marketing for startups and to show the world that videos can really uplift your business. After all this, she finished her post graduation and immediately started working full-time in an organization as an HR. After working for 2 years in the same company she started having a feeling- Am I really missing something from life? And if the answer is a ‘Yes’, how can it be filled up? Then Swetha had a realization- she herself is keenly interested and passionate about reading and telling stories but in a different way, so why not to implement it! Swetha had lots of stories to tell which were already occupied in her mind and wanted it to share with everyone, but how? Then she thought of filmmaking! Filmmaking is the best way to tell stories to others is what she found.
What is the problem you are trying to solve? Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
We are trying to help all types of startups who are running low on budget. We want to showcase their ideas, thoughts, products, and services via our videos. We strategize each and every part of video production that ranges from pre-production to the final cut. With our videos, we have helped several SMBs including FocoBlanco and Khahoo.
What is the uniqueness about your Startup?
We provide video related services and article writing services. We are the pioneer in this niche and the only one in the market who is currently dealing in these segments.
What is the revenue model? What is the logic behind it? What is the model you are following – Free / Freemium / Premium etc. ? Explain your thought process.
We are currently working on the Freemium Business Model. After this, we are planning to provide Exclusive and Premium services to our clients. We are providing Freemium services to that our present clients so they try and test our services and if they are happy and satisfied with the service, they can take the deal to further stage.
Who are the consumers that you are targeting? How is this going to affect them?
We are targeting coworking spaces and startups to tell their stories in a unique way. We are supporting them via our videos and article writing services.
What is the big picture of your startup? Will it lead to something bigger? If so, how?
We are planning to expand our area of service outside Bangalore and are planning soon to be a Pan-India company. Also, we are planning to serve MNCs and other conglomerates.
What is the success story of your startup in your own words?
Swetha went to pursue a course in film-making. After finishing the course, Swetha started working as a cinematographer for a startup called Khahoo Foods. It’s an online food delivery company that delivers food via their app/website. Khahoo had a big requirement at that time- they wanted to cover all the regional cuisines of India in a beautiful and engaging way. But the budget was quite limited and she had to come up with a solution. Swetha went on a journey with 3 team members and within a month she covered entire Karnataka. How? Almost 256 cooking videos for Khahoo were made in a span of 1 month. That boosted her confidence and motivated her to settle in the world of video production and filmmaking and open her own startup in Bangalore. This is how AOC Production was conceived. Apart from that, we have helped other SMEs across Bangalore to achieve their goals. We have helped numerous SMBs to become popular and eminent in their domain.
Moreover, the main challenge after the inception of AOC Production was to find the right team who is equally interested and had a zeal for video production and filmmaking. But within a short time, again, she found a team of passionate and creative directors, camera person and digital marketers to aid her in the journey. Now after this, another challenge was the absence of a proper portfolio to approach the clients. Then she had to dig in her own money for the production invested her own money for the portfolios, to reach out to the clients and the result came out well, indubitably.
Any other information about your startup that you would like to share with us.
We are thinking of working with several coworking spaces. This is also our area of interest. Apart from this, we are also planning to expand our business nationwide. We are also on the verge of making several deals on video making with several MNCs. Visit http://www.aocproduction.in to know about us in more details.
Thanks Shweta. Best of luck!
