SEREKO Granted Patent for NeuroCalm®, India’s First Psychodermatology Complex Targeting Skin Stress

SEREKO, India’s first psychodermatology‑led skincare brand, has been officially granted a patent for its proprietary stress recovery complex NeuroCalm®, marking a breakthrough in the evolution of science‑backed skincare in India.

Developed after two years of intensive research and development, NeuroCalm® is a patented psychodermatology complex designed to address stress responses in the skin. This patent establishes SEREKO as the first Indian skincare brand to secure intellectual property in psychodermatology, a field at the intersection of dermatology, psychiatry, and neuroscience.

Innovation & Development
The innovation was conceptualised and led by Malvika Jain, Founder & CEO of SEREKO, in collaboration with Dr. Kriti Soni, a leading cosmetic scientist. Unlike traditional formulations that focus only on surface‑level symptoms, NeuroCalm® works by supporting the skin’s stress response, reducing visible stress markers while improving overall skin health and balance.

Malvika Jain commented: “With NeuroCalm®, we wanted to challenge the idea that skincare is only about ingredients and routines. This patent is not just a win for us as a brand—it’s a win for Indian skincare innovation and for consumers seeking solutions that address the deeper causes behind skin concerns.”

Significance of the Patent

  • First in India: Establishes SEREKO as the pioneer in psychodermatology IP.
  • Science‑Backed Approach: Validates the brand’s belief that stress is not only emotional but visibly expressed through the skin.
  • Consumer Impact: Offers a new category of skincare solutions that target root causes rather than superficial symptoms.

About SEREKO
Launched in June 2023, SEREKO was founded with a mission to go beyond surface‑level skincare and target stress as the root cause of skin issues. The NeuroCalm® patent, granted in December 2025, validates this mission and positions SEREKO as a leader in psychodermatology innovation in India.
