Totalling a cumulative capacity of 6,000 desks in India, WeWork currently has 3 locations in India including two in Bengaluru and one in Mumbai.

“WeWork’s recent foray into India and its steady expansion in various markets demonstrate our commitment to the India market and our excitement to significantly grow our presence here in the long run,” said Christian Lee, Managing Director at WeWork Asia. “Ryan has been one of the longest tenured WeWork members on our global team and we are thrilled to welcome him in his new role as the Co-General Manager in India. Working closely with Karan Virwani, General Manager at WeWork India, Ryan will be responsible for growing and overseeing our local team in India. Coupled with his strong background in hospitality and grasp of WeWork’s mission and values, Ryan is the ideal person to lead our efforts forward in India.”

Before assuming this role in November 2017, Ryan served as the Vice President of Building Operations for Europe and Israel based out of Amsterdam, where he was responsible for budget management, building operations and scaling teams across facilities management, IT, security management, food & beverage and daily operations. Prior to that, Ryan was the first person hired to help scale operations back in 2012, when WeWork had 5 open locations and 35 employees. His previous position saw him spending 4+ years in New York working cross-departmentally to scale processes around daily operations, facilities management and new building openings.

“I am deeply honored to lead WeWork India along with Karan to contribute to India’s success story. With India home to a large number of technology companies, we want to build on this momentum by improving the local business ecosystem for startups and large enterprises alike through our expertise of creating an innovative culture and reimagining the future of work,” said Ryan Bennett. “In the coming years, India will be key in shaping the world economy and it is an incredible opportunity for us to be here now. We look forward to scaling new heights in India.”
