Delhi, March 29, 2024: C3iHub, a National Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) for Advanced Cybersecurity at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), unveiled startup cohorts III, IV, and V at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. Supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the NM-ICPS Mission, C3iHub introduced 19 startups specializing in diverse cybersecurity areas, including Application Security, Integrated SOC Solution, Cyber Forensics, Blockchain Technology, UAV Security, IoT Security, and Cyber Insurance.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries such as Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, DST; Lt. General M U Nair, National Cyber Security Coordinator; Shri Navin Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General NCIIPC; Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, Sr. Advisor, DST; and Dr. Ekta Kapoor, Mission Director, NM-ICPS, DST; along with Dr. Ajay Kumar, Former Defence Secretary of India; and Dr. Gulshan Rai, India’s first National Cyber Security Coordinator.

C3iHub’s Startup Incubation Program has supported fifty startups across five cohorts, focusing on critical cybersecurity domains like cyber forensics, application security, blockchain technology, deception technology, threat intelligence, and cyber insurance. With a seed grant of Rs 10 lakhs and a monthly salary of Rs 50,000 for one founder over two years, totaling an initial investment of Rs 22 lakhs, C3iHub aims for a 20% success rate among startups after the two-year incubation period. The hub facilitates connections with investors and corporations to aid startups in raising capital, contributing to the development of a resilient digital infrastructure for India.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Project Director C3iHub, expressed his enthusiasm for the milestone achieved, highlighting the vibrant potential of the cybersecurity ecosystem to innovate and lead globally. Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, DST commended C3iHub’s exceptional performance and emphasized the need to integrate quantum tech and cybersecurity to prepare for future challenges.

Lt. General M U Nair, National Cyber Security Coordinator, underscored the significance of a vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem in safeguarding national security and applauded C3iHub’s efforts in nurturing startups. Shri Navin Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General NCIIPC, lauded the initiative to support cybersecurity startups, emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive ecosystem for innovation.

Dr. Ekta Kapoor, Mission Director, NM-ICPS, DST, expressed her pleasure at the launch of 19 new cybersecurity startups, highlighting the field’s importance in protecting indigenous technologies. Dr. Bharat Panchal, Chief Industry Relations & Regulatory Officer – India, outlined the startup selection process and the comprehensive support provided by C3iHub.

In addition to the launch event, C3iHub organized an exhibition where developers and top-performing startups showcased technologies like Authentication, Deception Technology, Anti-Drone Technology, Cloud Security, Hardware Security, and Blockchain Technology.
