New Delhi, July 3, 2019: India’s favourite self-drive mobility platform, Zoomcar announced that the recently launched Volkswagen Polo on the shared subscription platform has been completely subscribed within 48 hours. Zoomcar has partnered with Volkswagen to bring Polo cars on its Shared Subscription Platform, within 48 hours of announcement all 200 cars of the first batch were subscribed.

As a niche and premium offering in the hatchback category, Polo is primarily targeted towards the Gen Y and Gen Zs. The generation is driven to express their unique identity. Breaking away from the primitive mould, the generation clearly values the mantra of shared subscription married to a marketplace model to offset their monthly subscription, an offering that is a first of its kind in India.

Commenting on the latest development, Greg Moran, Co-Founder and CEO, Zoomcar said, “We have partnered with Volkswagen to grow our offering of premium category vehicles. To the same end, we are glad to inform that we have completed the subscription of all the Polo cars currently on the platform, within only 48 hours of the announcement. The feat further validates the changing pulse of the nation that prioritises accessibility over hassled ownership. It is high on our agenda to keep delivering what our customers prefer on India’s only shared subscription platform.’’

Within only 11 months of entering the shared subscription segment, ZAP Subscribe by Zoomcar commands 90% of the subscription market. This success, furthermore, is a testament to the new-age India prioritizing access over ownership. With shared subscription around, people are now more comfortable in choosing premium experiences over utility as the hassle and remorse of ownership are out of the equation.
