Jaipur, October 25 2019: There are a plethora of interesting startup ideas and ventures churning out of Rajasthan periodically. The state’s vibrant ecosystem hosts several ecosystem enablers and stakeholders that are constantly helping, supporting and mentoring these fresh ideas and aspirations.
But it is also true that most of these aspiring and young entrepreneurs tend to pursue their innovative and startup ideas with a narrow mindset of been dependent on investor funding to run their show, without a clear understanding of whether they actually need funding at all in the first place. Hence, it becomes rather critical for them to get the hang of what and how an angel investor community thinks and preserves the startup ecosystem at large.
With this agenda in mind, Startup Grind (SG) Jaipur launched its operations in the city with its first event, ‘Startup to Scaleup – An Angel Investor’s Perspective’, a focused session with Mahavir Pratap Sharma, a seasoned serial entrepreneur who exudes passion in angel investing, leadership and mentoring within the Rajasthan business ecosystem.
The event is designed to educate, inspire and connect idea-stage and early-stage startups, as well as aspiring and established entrepreneurs. The event will look at tracing the journey and evolution of Rajasthan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, along with mapping opportunities and challenges for new and emerging businesses in the state.
Mahavir Sharma will share his perspective as an active angel investor on nuances of starting up to scaling up a venture, when and how to assess funding strategies, bootstrapping vs fundraising, among other burning issues within the startup ecosystem.
Through its multiple initiatives and activities, SG Jaipur aims to boost the state government’s policies and efforts that are being made for the Rajasthan startup ecosystem.
Rahul Singh, Chapter Director – SG Jaipur, said, “Rajasthan’s startup ecosystem buzzing with many ideas and innovations that are taking shape almost every day, and it is the right time for universities to step up their contributions and support students, incubations and local entrepreneurs near their campuses. Considering the vastness of the state, it is a no-brainer that startups and entrepreneurs have ample opportunities and problem statements to explore and develop solutions for the region. Through our focussed and curated initiatives, we wish to act as a growth enabler for the ecosystem, which has a lot of potential to cater not just the state or the country, but the world at large.”
