Pilgrims to receive free pure drinking water on 550th Prakash Parv through Smart water ATM’s

Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab, 7th November 2019: On the occasion of 550th Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji starting from 1st November to 20th November 2019, free drinking water has been arranged by Pi-Lo Shudh Pani Seva Foundation- a Not for Profit Organisation dedicated to providing safe water services for the special gathering going on in Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab. According to the estimates received from Punjab government, 20 Lakh pilgrims are expected to gather for Prakash Parva, for which free water facility has been provided by Pi-Lo through their impaneled drinking water solutions. Pi-lo Foundation has installed 10 Pi-Lo Smart Water ATMs and 15 Pi-Lo Smart water dispensers to serve free RO drinking water to all Pilgrims 24*7.

Every water ATM is maintained with an operator to ensure proper functioning and cleaning. A team of 4 service engineers is allocated to maintain and attend every problem at real-time basis. A separate team of cleaning staff for proper sanitation and cameraman for public feedback has been arranged at all Pi-Lo Smart Water Stations in order to provide a clean and marvelous experience to all the pilgrims coming for Prakash Parv.

World-class arrangements for pilgrims

According to Mr. Kuldeep Singh Saini, Supervising Engineer, Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Punjab, the 550th Prakash Parv being held at Sultanpur Lodhi is estimated to have a footfall of more than 5 lakh pilgrims each day. For a memorable experience, the department has provided complete water supply, bathing facility, and separate toilets for men and women. A special mobile water testing van has been deputed to monitor water quality and also provided water dispensers and water ATMs in association with NPO’s like Pi-Lo.

Pilgrims who participated in the Prakash Parv praised the world-class arrangements done by the city administration and Pi-Lo; of which one of the pilgrims Gurpreet Kaur said, “We have participated in the Prakash Parv in Sultanpur in the past but we have never seen such arrangements before. We are very happy to see pure drinking water system in every corner of the city. We did not expect to see such high tech level arrangements like these RO purified ATM’s”.

Jatin Alahwat, director of Pi-Lo Pure Water Service Foundation, said, “Everyday millions of people are assembling to participate in the 550th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and getting the opportunity to offer pure water to all the devotees at this holy festival is indeed a pleasure. We are very happy that the Punjab Government, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Max Hospital, and Trident have braced this novel initiative together with us under their CSR initiative. We hope that this festival may bring light to the life of all pilgrims.”
