YULU partners with Southern Railways; becomes India’s first EV brand to partner with the state railway board

Bengaluru, 20 December 2019: Yulu, a leading Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) provider today officially announced its partnership with Southern Railways. Yulu will start the operations by deploying 130 battery-operated two-wheelers at exclusive parking zones provided by the Southern Railways at 7 stations- Bengaluru Cantonment, Bangalore East, Whitefield, Hoodi Hault, Bellandur Road, K R Puram, and Baiyapnahhli. 

The official launch took place at Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station and was graced by Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager of Southern Railways, Mr. Ashok Kumar Verma, DMR. Southern Railways and Dr. A N Krishna Reddy, Sr. DCM Bengaluru. Through this collaboration, Southern Railways and YULU are providing convenient, eco-friendly and affordable first and last-mile commute to citizens traveling intercity or intracity. This partnership yet again showcases Yulu’s commitment to transform urban commute in India.

Allotment of exclusive parking space for EVs is in its final stages, and YULU is the first EV company to be permitted to operate across seven stations in Bengaluru. We begin with launching today at Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station. We are glad to collaborate with Yulu offering a better experience in intracity travel.” 

The engagement with Southern Railways offering the shared mobility space will help in making intracity traveling easier. The service will be additionally extended to all the railway stations of Bengaluru by 2020.
