InCred raises Rs. 600 Crores in its Series A funding

Mumbai, March 13, 2020: After witnessing the response received for Hindi Medium, a 2017 comedy – drama film, the stage is set for yet another aspirational film – Angrezi Medium.

This family entertainer  film revolves around a father going out of his way to provide high quality education to his daughter in a reputed school, abroad. Adding the real world touch to this situation is the partnership that the film has with the digital lending platform InCred, that helps in fulfilling dreams of getting the education that one aspires for, much like the character of Champak (Irrfan Khan).

India has the largest set of young population across the globe with more than 50% of its population under-25. Unfortunately, despite having such a massive pool of youth, they are often deprived of quality education. One of the biggest reasons is the lack of finances that prevents them from achieving their dreams.

Angrezi Medium unfolds the hurdles faced by the parents to provide good education to their children due to weak economic conditions.

Speaking on the partnership, Prashant A. Bhonsle, CEO, Student Loans & Head Marketing said, “India is not only one of the youngest countries across world, it is also a place where education is deeply rooted in its rich culture. In fact, middle class Indian families strongly believe that good education is the only bridge between poverty and prosperity. That said, over years, the costs of education have been constantly increasing to the extent that it is becoming unaffordable for average Indian household. Movie ‘Angrezi Medium’ is one such moving story about the struggles of a father with humble background who is trying hard to fulfill his daughter’s dream of higher education abroad. This is the exact problem that InCred student loan is solving for Indian students and parents. We are proud to associate with this film and wish all the success

Maddock Filmsalso mentioned that, “After witnessing  a positive response from the film Hindi medium, we are excited to release Angrezi Medium. We wanted to demonstrate the family drama and the emotional nuances that every Indian family undergoes on a daily basis when it comes to their children. The central idea of the movie runs parallely to InCred’s vision of catering to one’s educational financing needs and we are happy to partner with them.”
