Mumbai | 22nd June 2020: Sodexo, the leader in digital employee benefits, has announced its partnership with Milkbasket, world’s first daily-contactless-delivery service and one of India’s most prominent grocery delivery start-ups. It’s been close to three months since the nationwide lockdown was announced, where employees have been working from home, clocking ten to twelve hours every day on their time sheets. As a result, they are left with very little time every morning to either prepare breakfast or step out to do shop for groceries. Moreover, with shops allowing only two to three people at a time or making people wait in queues to follow social distancing guidelines, the time required to shop for groceries has increased. To ensure hassle-free & timely delivery of dairy products like milk, bread in addition to eggs, butter, juices and other essentials, Sodexo partnered with Milkbasket where Meal Cardholders can order their daily essentials and food items from the app and utilize the meal benefits given by their company, as they continue to work from home.

Ever since the lockdown began, Milkbasket has been at the forefront, serving families with essential food and household items. Milkbasket staff wear masks and gloves at all times and undergo basic health check-ups every day. They also have a new-age technology platform to enable frequent and frictionless buying with unique features like one-click buying, no checkout, and contactless delivery, all firsts in the e-commerce industry. Also, Milkbasket has been careful to ensure the utmost safety for both its staff and customers. Everyone at team Milkbasket strictly adheres to the required social distancing norms and follows the protocols of the local administration.

Krishnan Menon, VP Merchant Relations at Sodexo BRS India said “The Indian workforce has gone fully digital. From using new-age tools to connecting with peers and shopping online, they have adapted very quickly to the new normal. As employees continue to work from home, online spends are increasing, especially in the food and daily essentials category, to ensure minimum contact. Our partnership with Milkbasket will not only ensure hassle-free delivery of food items and daily essentials but will also empower our Meal Cardholders with greater choice. This is yet another step in the direction to improve the quality of life of our consumers.”

Sahil Madan, Head Growth at Milkbasket said “We are really excited to announce our partnership with Sodexo. Many of our customers have been demanding this but we really wanted to do it in the most technologically advanced manner possible. Our customers can use their Sodexo Meal card like any other debit/credit card and order all their household needs in just one-click! It’s not just the most safe and secure way to fulfill your grocery needs, it’s the best combination of savings and convenience that only customers of Sodexo and Milkbasket can experience!”
