Hyderabad, Telangana, India | 22nd August 2025: Breast cancer has become the most common cancer among women in India, with nearly 232,800 new cases projected in 2025. While medical advancements have improved treatment, survival rates still depend heavily on early diagnosis. Unfortunately, only about 30% of breast cancer cases in India are detected at an early stage, compared to over 60% in developed countries. This late detection leads to lower survival chances and significantly higher treatment costs.

To address this urgent health challenge, the MEIL Foundation, in collaboration with the Sudha Reddy Foundation, has launched Pink Power Run 2.0 — Hyderabad’s flagship initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer. The event will take place on Sunday, 28th September 2025, at Necklace Road, Hyderabad, bringing together communities, global icons, and changemakers in the fight against breast cancer.

Global Icons Join the Mission

The announcement featured Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025 and breast cancer survivor, along with Krishnah Gravidez, Miss Asia 2025, and Mrs. Sudha Reddy, philanthropist and Founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation. Their presence highlighted the importance of awareness, solidarity, and collective action in transforming women’s healthcare in India.

Voices of Purpose

Mrs. Sudha Reddy, Global Ambassador of the Miss World Organization, emphasized:

“Awareness, early detection, and access are the three pillars that can change breast cancer outcomes in India. The Pink Power Run is about uniting people, saving lives, and making Hyderabad a beacon of hope for women across the nation.”

Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, shared her personal experience as a survivor:

“This is not just a run, it is a movement. With India’s five-year survival rate currently at 66.4%, every step toward early detection can improve these odds dramatically.”

Miss Asia 2025, Krishnah Gravidez, added:

“True progress in healthcare comes when every woman has access to screening and treatment. I am honored to support this cause alongside MEIL Foundation and Sudha Reddy Foundation.”
