India, 25 September 2025 – Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has raised $10 million in an all-equity bridge round to fuel its next phase of growth. The round was led by existing investor Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani, Founder of Thyrocare’s Family Office, with participation from Balamurugan Arumugam and the Haran Family Office.
The capital will be primarily deployed to expand Simple Energy’s retail footprint across India, with plans to open 150 new showrooms and 200 service centers in 2025. A portion of the funds will also support marketing initiatives and ongoing R&D efforts.
Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar, and co-founded by Shreshth Mishra and Ankit Gupta, Simple Energy has emerged as a pioneer in India’s EV two-wheeler segment. The company is known for its deep localization, full vertical integration of powertrain development and manufacturing, and industry-first offerings such as an 8-year motor warranty and heavy rare-earth-free motors.
To date, Simple Energy has raised $51 million from marquee investors. The company is planning an IPO in FY’27, targeting $350 million to support manufacturing expansion and broader growth initiatives.
In 2025, Simple Energy launched Gen 1.5 of Simple One (248 km IDC range) and Simple OneS (181 km IDC range). These models are now available at 53 outlets across cities including Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi. The company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, supports an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.
