Leads Genetics Launches World-Class Integrated Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Cattle Genetics & Genomics in Bareilly

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh | February 24, 2026: In a landmark development for India’s animal husbandry and dairy sector, Leads Genetics, a subsidiary of BL Agro Group, inaugurated its Integrated R&D Centre for Indigenous Cattle Genetics & Genomics at BL Kamdhenu Farms & Leads Genetics Headquarters, Bareilly.

The centre, featuring advanced IVF–ET and pathology laboratories, was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in the presence of a high-level Brazilian delegation, senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, and global experts in animal genetics and dairy science.

India–Brazil Collaboration
The centre is built on a strong foundation of India–Brazil scientific cooperation, following the MoU and Technical Cooperation Project signed in December 2025 between Leads Genetics, Embrapa, and Fazenda Floresta at the Embassy of India in Brasília.

  • Arnaldo Manuel de Souza Machado Borges, President, ABCZ, said: “This Centre represents trust, science, and cooperation between Brazil and India. Proven Zebu genetics and breeding systems have now been adapted for India’s scale, climate, and farmer realities.”
  • Dr. Roberta Bertin Barros, Founder & Director, Fazenda Floresta, added: “The speed of execution, from agreement to advanced genetics, IVF, and genomics on the ground, demonstrates what is possible when vision meets institutional commitment.”
  • Leonardo Ananda, CEO, India–Brazil Chamber of Commerce, remarked: “This Centre is a powerful example of India–Brazil partnerships moving beyond dialogue into delivery.”

Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Minister, said: “Uttar Pradesh is India’s largest dairy state and its biggest opportunity to redefine dairy growth, farmer prosperity, and climate resilience. With the right genetics, methane emissions can be reduced, supporting environmental sustainability.”

Ghanshyam Khandelwal, Chairman, BL Agro Industries, noted: “Spread across 25 acres, the Centre integrates pathology diagnostics, genomics, and advanced reproductive biotechnology-creating a 360-degree ecosystem for livestock transformation.”

Devendra Pandey, Special Secretary, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, added: “The integration of genomics, IVF–ET, and pathology at a single facility sets a new national benchmark, translating global knowledge into rapid outcomes for India’s livestock sector.”
