He has been working on IoT based projects since last 2 years and has successfully developed Home automation, Mobile biometric device and being a SE Computer Engineering student has also guided final year Electronics students to make project on Emergency vehicle system.
Wasim Mulani (Chief Innovative Officer): Wasim Mulani is a SE Computer Engineering student from AISSMS,COE Pune. He has 2 years of experience in working with a network marketing firm but from inside he is Tech enthusiastic person and believes in solving urban problems through building Innovative products and solutions that add value to people’s lives. And has a unique ability to think out of the box and use it in the most innovative way.
The first time we met was at the first day of college and few months later I came to know that Kundan was working on some IoT Tablet that would serve as Laptop and Mobile both with a Bangalore based firm and wasim was doing some network marketing thing and was already earning leading a team of arround 40 people I was excited to make them join my idea but since I was a little reserved for my idea at that moment I firstly made a good bond with them and understood their nature and after I was comfortable we started working intensely on our startup.
What is the problem you are trying to solve? Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
If we look at the problems faced by architectural firm / real estate firm, right from the ideation state to the end customers the main problem they face is the visualization of their project in real world. This on average causes firms a loss of more than 0.5 – 5 crores INR per unit flat per project, and a yearly loss of over 1,800 – 52,000 crores INR depending upon their size. We are solving this problem by using a completely standalone system i.e. mixed reality glasses that would serve as a computer or a mobile phone that superimposes 3d digital images into your real world. This would make the office completely digital and would certainly boost the efficiency and revenue of the architecture segment and would get the firm even more potential customers.
What is the uniqueness about your Startup?
DKTRON AiR are India’s First fully untethered Mixed Reality smartglasses. Through our device we are enabling the architects to see their project in real world even before building something, scaling it to full size, edit the project in real time in real world, check the stability of it and sharing or showing it to someone in the same place or miles away anytime anywhere without using any tracker. Helping them increase their productivity and revenues efficiently.
What is the revenue model? What is the logic behind it? What is the model you are following – Free / Freemium / Premium etc. ? Explain your thought process.
Sales of hardware i.e. the Mixed Reality smartglasses would be the major contributor for the time being, which would include the best features you could get in a mobile phone with Mixed reality capabilities. After that we also have plans to get a consumer based version out if we get our minimum set of required users.
Who are the consumers that you are targeting? How is this going to affect them?
Currently we are targeting only the architectural or real estate firms and we feel that the product would boost their productivity and revenues drastically and make them achieve more higher levels.
What is the big picture of your startup? Will it lead to something bigger? If so, how?
Yes, we are starting off with the architecture and real estate segment but we do have plans to go to the gaming, entertainment, education, e-commerce, medical and various sectors as we go ahead.
What is the success story of your startup in your own words?
We feel that finding your own way to do things is the most amazing and enjoyable thing. Since, I remember the incident before when we went to have our design printed on the PCB we were told that no one would manufacture or assemble only 5 units for you, we actually only wanted 2 but as we started reaching out to more and more manufacturers we met some really good people that helped us to get the initial requirement of the PCB done. So like wise you may encounter some people who will demotivate you but you keep going to find the one that will help you.
