Indian Startup, Somey’s Kitchen, Featured on UK Channel ITV’s Series based on Entrepreneurs – “Give It A Year”

Bangalore, 7th August 2018: Sandy & Joel, of Somey’s Kitchen are the only Indian entrepreneurs,being featured on the popular startup show on ITV, a UK Television Channel. Founders of Somey’s Kitchen, a brand that brings traditional home-made pickled masalas and Indian Breads to the global market, will be a part of ITV’s Give It A Year.

Give It A Year is a new business-themed series, where Baroness Karren Brady meets people who have started a new business and follow their growth for the first year across the UK.

The series follows Ms. Sandy Samuel Jerome, CEO & Co-Founder of Somey’s Kitchen and Mr. Joel Jerome, Founder & Chairman for a period of one year till October 2017 as they start off with their journey of “Somey’s Kitchen” in London, UK.

Somey’s Kitchen began as a small home-based business in 2016, when Ms. Sandy began making fish, chicken and prawn pickled masalas from her mother, Mrs. Somey’s, recipes. The products were an instant hit in London, leading her to focus on building Somey’s Kitchen as a business.

The company expanded to India in March 2018, by establishing its factory near Bengaluru, Karnataka and added organic and gluten-free Indian breads to their product range.

Baroness Karren Brandy makes her way with the founders of Somey’s Kitchen and talks about the first year journey of the brand. Selling off the house in London to establishing a factory in India, the show showcases the hardships faced by the founders of the company. It talks about the marketing strategies used by the owners to reach the hearts of the local customers to building the brand as a must have on the dining table.
