Rachit Mathur, Founder and CEO, Avenue Growth says, “This alliance will strengthen our position in ever growing and challenging consumer durables market. Mr. Gupta comes in with great experience and industry knowledge. And a desire to tap the unmarred opportunities in the consumer durables segment, together with Amit Gupta, Avenue Growth has entered this fast moving segment and aims at capturing a substantial chunk in coming years.

The consumer durables sector includes consumer appliances and consumer electronics. The consumer appliances sector includes air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens and other domestic appliances whereas consumer electronics include televisions, audio and video systems, electronic accessories, CD and DVD players, digital cameras and camcorders.

With the hunger to improve the living standards, it is expected that by 2025 India will become the fifth largest consumer durables market globally. The changing environmental dynamics, urbanization and rising income levels are driving the growth of this segment that was once inhabited by a high price point.

The soaring demand for consumer electronics on markets across India and the globe are influenced by global ‘mega-trends’, such as the increasing trend for premium devices. A report by CARE Ratings said the government’s focus on ‘Housing for All’, rural electrification and ‘Power For All’ has become one of the key drivers for the growth in the consumer durables industry which is likely to witness a growth of 6.5-8.5% in the domestic consumption.

In order to further strengthen the start-up segment, a realization to expand beyond the usual business feed is essential. Avenue Growth, with a firm belief of not restricting itself on one specific location or business now, looks upon the consumer durables sector.
