Bengaluru | 26th June 2020: To meet the demand of sanitizing objects used in our day-to-day lives, Bengaluru-based Energy Analytics startup MinionLabs, has introduced a new product ‘MinionLabs UV Saaph’ – a disinfectant machine that can sterilise the surface of anything in less than 10 minutes.
Priced at Rs. 10,999, the product is available in two models – Minion UV Saaph Standard and Minion UV Saaph Mobile. It has been launched to serve the large B2C and B2B markets and can be used to disinfect grocery items, food items, supermarket deliveries, water bottles takeaways, utensils or packages.
Designed in the shape of a microwave, MinionLabs UV Saaph Standard has a disinfection chamber with a total capacity of 28 litres. It provides 360 degree exposure of ultraviolet-C (UVC) to the objects placed inside the cabinet to sanitize them. The UVC light technology kills 99.99% of SARS-COV-2, and other pathogens like germs, bacteria and fungicides.
Bangalore based MinionLabs specializes in providing real-time insights into the energy consumption of electric appliances through Minion, the world’s smallest energy monitoring device. It leverages a machine learning-based approach to power its cutting-edge algorithm to generate a comprehensive report on predictive analytics.

Minion UV Saaph comes with safety sensors that turn-off the discharge of UVC light within millisecond of the opening of the machine. Inspired by the iPhone’s design, the product comes with a single button with multiple features like Start/Load/Resume/Pause/Reset, making it consumer friendly.
The MinionLabs UV Saaph Mobile is the portable version of MinionLabs UV Saaph Standard, and can be retrofitted anywhere. It has an inbuilt rechargeable battery pack that can provide a power back up of twelve hours on standby mode. An IoT device, the MinionLabs UV Saaph Mobile can contribute to real-time information on the ambient temperature and humidity of the place along with data on the number of times sanitization is made per day.
In February, 2020, MinionLabs had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Indian Angel Network, the largest horizontal seed-stage platform in India.

MinionLabs was among the five startups selected by Facebook and Invest India to win INR 35 lakh each (USD 50,000) as seed funding to further indigenous products. The startup has also received a grant from WhatsApp India.
