Country Genie simply provides a platform to establish a friendly connection between buyers and sellers in a managed environment. It is a place where they serve all generations on their demand, on their wish. We are publishing an interview of Mr. Gaurav Singh – Founder & CEO, Country Genie.
About the founders
Mr. Gaurav Singh is a Management graduate from Lucknow University, India. He pursued the MBA Programme in International Business for Executives. After bootstrapping a couple of valuable ideas in the vast internet space, launched Country Genie in April 2018.

Gaurav worked with corporate companies which include Manufacturing, Logistics Services & Banking services in HR Domain.

What is the problem you are trying to solve? Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
I searched a lot on internet which ultimately forced me to create a new market place for all over the world where only unique products are sold online as there were so many unique products available on many shopping e commerce websites but their demand cannot be created as they get lost in the list of old and usual type of products.
So I decided to create an online e commerce platform where only unique varieties of products are sold which can be easily available to general public without any search effort.
What challenges did you face when you were starting out?
While I was planning my business no one came with a positive attitude to support me in my future planning of business, which ultimately results as a failure. Being an entrepreneur the thought and mindset was everything, so I made a quick decision and overcome that phase and which I think that this phase of negativity always comes in every entrepreneur lifetime which one has to overcome with a Silent mind which has active responses.
And as we call challenges as an opportunity to learn and makeover it with definite success, we have no challenges, many opportunities are there and many are yet to come.
How did you get the initial capital? What returns does it have? Tell us about the investors (if any)
We started as seed capital which was invested from my savings; we never been funded by any VC or any investors, But we are planning to get some kind of funding in near future for some e commerce business expansion, as we already got good returns in our initial seed investment.
Please tell us about the Product / Solution. Explain how you went about the Product-Market Fit Process.
Almost all latest Unique and Trending Products are available on our website which is the demand of the market, so it easily fits on the products – market fit process.
What were your assumptions when you entered the market, learning that you have?
Our assumption were only to get potential and loyal customers for unique and trending products which worked out in the initial stage and Currently we are creating a filter in all other ecommerce companies products which are trending and unique to fulfill customers wishes and search on single platform.
What is the insight that you have about this market, which no one else has? Uniqueness about your Startup.
Almost all latest Unique and Trending Products are available on our website which no one else has in the market.
What is the strength of the startup and the scale of operations? Who do You Perceive as Your Competition?
Our Brand Being loved by peoples around the world is all of the success Strength which only matters to us as compared to any monetary values right now.Currently we are not competing with anyone in market as we are expanding our operations.
What is the revenue model? What is the logic behind it?
Selling unique products itself is named as best seller revenue model, which no B school teach. The logic behind the business is to create a filtered products list of unique nature from all the other websites around the globe which the ultimate demand in this ecommerce business era.
Who are the consumers that you are targeting? How is this going to affect them?
All the consumer which are interested in unique products are our target and can be easily found also which effect in them in general when see our products.
How did you get your first customer?
Through Social media marketing we got our first customer, that’s why we call social media as a life support system of any ecommerce company.
What is the big picture of your startup? Is this Product leading to something bigger? If so, how?
Currently we are only serving USA, But eagerly waiting to expand our business through out the other country of the world with faster logistics services as our business is expanding bigger day by day.
Since inception, give us a sense of the value of business done by your venture?
The Value of the business done by us is around 20 lacs in which our closing profit is around 6 lacs. We have daily 8000 to 10000 visitors and around 300 potential registered customers.
What would be your goal to accomplish in the next six months?
Our goal is to launch and expand business in India in the next 6 months.
What message do you want to convey to fellow entrepreneurs?
I only want to say to each and every entrepreneur who is just starting that always be clear with your thought process about any plans and implement it with positive attitude that the project is already been completed successfully, I bet assure you will get tons of success all the best to all.
