Mumbai, Maharashtra, India | 10th October 2025: At the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025 in Mumbai, Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Fintech, in partnership with Startup Réseau, hosted a high-level thematic interaction on Green Fintech — spotlighting sustainable finance and climate-driven innovation. The event served as a bridge between Danish and Indian stakeholders, focused on creating scalable solutions at the intersection of finance, technology, and sustainability.
Driving Collaboration for Sustainable Financial Innovation
The closed-door session brought together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, ecosystem enablers, and growth-stage ventures working to align financial innovation with climate goals. The discussion emphasized global collaboration as a key driver of sustainable development and financial inclusion.
The program opened with remarks by H.E. Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, who reiterated Denmark’s global commitment to sustainability through partnership. This was followed by Ulrik Nødgaard, Governor of Danmarks Nationalbank, who shared insights on Denmark’s leadership in embedding climate considerations into financial policy and regulation.
A Special Address was delivered by Shri K. Rajaraman, Chairperson of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), who presented the “India’s Global Financial Gateway” vision—highlighting IFSCA’s commitment to green and innovative finance frameworks that attract international collaboration.
Launch of the ‘Green Fintech – Denmark’ Report
During GFF 2025, Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Fintech also hosted a Climate Fintech Roundtable and launched a comprehensive report titled ‘Green Fintech – Denmark: Digital Solutions for a Sustainable Future’.
The report showcases innovative startups and cluster organizations from Denmark and India, aiming to foster cross-border dialogue and partnerships. It examines how technology and sustainability converge in the banking and financial services sector, perfectly aligning with the festival’s theme and Denmark’s role as a Country Partner.
Key Themes and Recommendations
The interaction was structured around five focus clusters — Policy & Framework, Industry, Investors, Startups, and Ecosystem Enablers — capturing multi-stakeholder insights. Participants agreed that regulatory alignment, clear policy direction, and blended finance models are essential to mobilize private capital at scale and strengthen investor confidence in climate-aligned financial instruments.
The dialogue further underlined that collaboration among banks, corporates, and fintech innovators will play a critical role in accelerating the transition to low-carbon business models and expanding green financial ecosystems globally.
Positioning Denmark as a Leader in Sustainable Fintech
Through its participation at Global Fintech Fest 2025, Denmark sought to showcase the Nordic region as a resilient and sustainable economic hub, with strengths in Ethical AI, Quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and rapidly growing expertise in Green and Climate Fintech. With a stable, investor-friendly business environment, Denmark offers an ideal launchpad for companies entering the Nordic markets. The recent enhanced air connectivity between Delhi, Mumbai, and Copenhagen further strengthens the foundation for sustained bilateral collaboration between India and Denmark.
