6th February 2020: Dysco is kicking of 2020 with Y3K: Planet Lost & Found, a day-long offline event that builds on the platform’s commitment channelling impact through community-building. The event aims to create a proposition for a sustainable future where tech, humans and nature live in harmony. The event will bring together a group of passionate individuals who care about the future of our planet, through a thoughtfully curated programme of talks, workshops, pop-ups, “Pitch-a Pecha Kucha” sessions and music performances. The impressive line-up of participants will include ecopreneurs, journalists, content creators, artists and more, creating an immersive experience ripe for collaboration, sharing and learning.

Y3K: Planet Lost & Found invites anyone looking to create meaningful impact in the arena of sustainability and environmental conservation, to protect and preserve the wonder and biodiversity of our planet. The event will also mark the launch of Dysco’s web platform.

Y3K: Planet Lost & Found aims to tackle the pressing question of – “What can I do in the face of accelerated climate change?”. Addressing this concern are a series of talks that highlight innovative initiatives working to create relevant impact. To make Y3K: Planet Lost & Found an immersive, interactive experience, Dysco has curated an array of exciting workshops on themes such as a zine making workshop by Current Conservation and a “Zero Waste in 30 Days” workshop by Bare Necessities as well as creative installations by homegrown brands such as Bombay Shirt Company and a live-painting session with artist Jai “Zaiu” Ranjit. There will also be screenings of films focusing on the environment, curated by The Gaia People (pictured above) who will also preview the new season of their series “On the Brink”. The event will conclude with an evening of music curated by Sienna, with Goa-based ecologist and singer-songwriter Ditty (pictured below) and Mumbai-based composer Discoman (Nishant Walimbe).

Y3K: Planet Lost & Found will be accompanied by conservation-focused satellite events – Mahim Beach Clean-up on 1 February and a heritage walk with art expert Alisha Sadikot of The Inheritage Project on 2 February.

With the aim to promote sustainability as a viable business model, Dysco will provide ecopreneurs a chance to pitch their ideas at a special Pitch-a Pecha Kucha session, powered by Lightbox VC. The session will open up the floor to young companies or even ideas at their concept-stage, to pitch in the 20 seconds x 20 slides format. The winning pitch will get the opportunity to be accelerated by the India chapter of Climate Launchpad, the world’s largest green-business idea competition.

Y3K: Planet Lost & Found will also include the return of Dysco’s popular Clients & Collaborators Fair, which offers a fresh take on traditional ‘career fairs’ by dedicating a two-hour session to creating opportunities for discovering potential collaborators and brand visibility in the sustainability and conservation space. A host of exciting, eco-friendly and wellness-focused brands will have their pop-up stalls at the event where participants and attendees can discover sustainable swaps for everyday products and services.
