Kolkata | 28th November 2019: IIM Calcutta is all set to host the second edition of Converge 2.0. A mega entrepreneurship event in Eastern India, Converge 2.0 aims to inspire and influence an entire generation of budding entrepreneurs. IIM Calcutta will be bringing together entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and angel investors for the event at its campus. Presented by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Calcutta in cooperation with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, the event will be held at the Institute premises between 29th and 30th November 2019.
The first day will witness a business plan competition titled ‘Ideas 2 Implementation’, a platform for start-up aspirants from across the country to showcase their innovative business plans. IIM Calcutta’s Entrepreneurship Cell received over 50 applications from across the country. Amongst those, 14 are selected to present their ideas on 29th November 2019. The competition will be judged by Vishal Kumar, Founder – Learning while Travelling, Arijit Bhattacharyya, Founder and CEO – Virtualinfocom, Vikram Duggal, Managing Partner – Ekcle Ventures & Ekcle Advisory Services and Md.Zafar, Chief Manager, Startup – Gail. 3 winners will be awarded a total cash prize of INR 1.5 lacs on 30th November, in order to encourage them towards bringing their startup ideas to reality.
On the second day the 13th international entrepreneurship summit ‘E-Summit – 2019’ will be held where expert entrepreneurs will speak about their journeys, challenges and milestones. The speakers for the E-Summit include names like Arijit Bhattacharyya, Vikram Duggal, Meghdut Roy Choudhary, Director- Global operations at Techno India Group, Ravi Ranjan, Entrepreneurship evangelist and startup expert Vishal Kumar.
Converge 2.0 will provide a conducive environment for the budding entrepreneurs wherein they get to interact with investors, mentors, industry experts, startup founders and also provide them ample opportunities to fine-tune their ideas by participating in business plan competitions and hackathons.
