India’s Poker Queen Nikita Luther Wins ‘Excellence in Gaming’ at We Women Want Conclave 2025

New Delhi, August 7, 2025 — Nikita Luther, India’s only female World Series of Poker (WSOP) Gold Bracelet champion, was honoured with the Shakti Award for Excellence in Gaming at the We Women Want Conclave 2025, held at The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi. She was felicitated by Shri Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, in recognition of her groundbreaking achievements and contributions to India’s poker industry.

Currently serving as Brand Ambassador and Business Consultant for Natural8 India, Luther is celebrated not only for her skill at the poker table but also for shattering stereotypes in a space historically dominated by men.

“This award reflects the resilience and determination it took to carve my path in professional poker,” said Luther. “If my journey can inspire even one woman to push boundaries in a male-dominated arena, then every challenge I faced was worth it. I am grateful to NewsX and Senior Editor Uday Pratap Singh for creating such an empowering platform.”

Kunal Patni, Executive Director & Country Head of Natural8 India, praised Luther’s achievement: “Nikita’s recognition is well-earned. She is a tireless advocate for poker as a skill-based sport and a role model for women in gaming and beyond. This award celebrates her influence in redefining perceptions of professional gaming in India.”

The We Women Want Conclave, organised by NewsX, extends the platform’s weekly show dedicated to addressing women’s issues and celebrating female trailblazers. The conclave gathers influential leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from across industries, with the Shakti Awards honouring women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, broken barriers, and inspired others.

Luther’s win comes at a time when India’s gaming industry is witnessing unprecedented growth, positioning her as a powerful symbol for aspiring female professionals looking to excel in the competitive world of professional gaming.
