JK Super Cement Launches in Kashmir: JK Cement Expands Local Manufacturing to Boost Infrastructure and Employment

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India | 15th August 2025: Saifco Cements Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of JK Cement Ltd, one of India’s leading cement manufacturers, has officially launched the JK Super Cement brand in Kashmir. This marks a pivotal step in the company’s expansion strategy and reinforces its commitment to accelerating infrastructure development and economic growth in the Union Territory.

The rollout follows JK Cement’s recent acquisition of Saifco Cements, enabling local production and distribution of its flagship grey cement brand—renowned for superior strength, durability, and consistent quality. The move is expected to enhance cement availability for public infrastructure projects, housing developments, and private construction across the region.

Strategic Expansion in a Growing Market

Highlighting the company’s vision, Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd, stated:

“JK Super Cement’s entry into Kashmir is a natural extension of our long-term growth strategy in Northern India. With the region witnessing rapid infrastructure and housing development, local manufacturing ensures faster, more efficient supply to meet this growing demand.”

Adding to this, Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JK Cement Ltd, said:

“This launch is not just about market presence—it’s about sustainable and inclusive growth. By investing in local manufacturing, skill-building, and employment, we aim to create a self-reliant ecosystem that strengthens Kashmir’s economy for decades to come.”

Distribution Across Key Kashmir Districts

Saifco Cements will initiate full-scale distribution in major districts including Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama. Backed by a strong channel partner network, the company will engage directly with builders, contractors, and public sector bodies to ensure widespread adoption.

An on-ground technical team will provide training, quality assurance, and support to local construction professionals, ensuring optimal use of JK Super Cement in diverse projects. This localized production model is also set to generate significant employment opportunities across the value chain.

Commitment to Local Growth and Nation-Building

Expressing pride in the initiative, Mr. Suhail Manzoor Guna, Director of Saifco Cements Pvt. Ltd, said:

“Launching JK Super Cement in Kashmir is more than a business milestone—it’s our commitment to building a stronger, self-reliant Jammu & Kashmir.”

Mr. Dawood Altaf Guna, Director, added:

“We are dedicated to delivering top-quality cement to fuel the region’s infrastructure boom while creating meaningful employment and contributing to the local economy.”

Aligned with ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’

This expansion aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, emphasizing domestic manufacturing and regional self-sufficiency. The Kashmir launch comes on the heels of JK Cement’s recent market entry into Bihar and capacity upgrades in multiple states, further cementing its status as a key player in India’s construction sector.
