  • Manu Mital is MBA in marketing and comes from a Educators Family background. After gaining knowledge & experience in sales & marketing with organizations like Indian express, HCL, Vodafone and Data Access. Manu started his entrepreneurial journey with HR and Manpower consulting, which he has been running successfully.
  • Shalini Saxena Mital is a PhD in Child Psychology &was Associate Professor in Banasthali  Vidyapeeth Rajasthan and Lingaya’s University.

What is the problem you are trying to solve? Can you share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
Exhaustive listing of Schools and Colleges with detailed info about them which is what parents & students are looking for. Since its inception, Eduluk has collated database of over 1.5 million institutions under the K-12 segment and 42,000 institutes under higher education segment. The company plans to bring about a paradigm shift in education through the use of data and analytics which is missing in education sector. CPC based Advertising, Virtual Education and Career Fairs, School shop online, World class websites with CMS.

While interacting with the students and parents community, he realized their difficulty to discover reliable and authentic source of information in the education segment. Moreover, he saw the dearth of information and options regarding educational institutions on Internet when his son was opting for admission. This made him realize the need for such a platform and thus Eduluk was born to bridge this gap of providing information.

What is the uniqueness about your Startup? 
Uniqueness lies in the depth of information you can get about the educational institutions which makes it the largest portal of the country.

What is the revenue model? Explain your thought process. 
Model is free for user and paid for institutions. The revenue model is Adverting on the portal by those who are targeting the users coming on the portal.

Who are the consumers that you are targeting? 
Parents, Students, Institutions Management , Government and researchers.

What is the big picture of your startup? Will it lead to something bigger? If so, how?
Confidential about the Big Picture but yes can assure you all that it is leading to something really big.

What is the success story of your startup in your own words?
With not much of publicity we are getting a traffic of over 25k per day and roughly 1.00 million pages have been indexed.

Please write about the challenges that you or your startup faced and how you overcome them to achieve success. Make sure it should inspire others.
During the initial days, right technology team, creating the right product mix and a bug free portal were the issues we faced. With time we were able to get the right set of people who have worked hard to create this amazing portal.

Technology has been the most challenging as I don’t have any technical background. During this journey with hits & misses I have been able to learn about the technology, the usage of social media & how to leverage it while working on it.
