Startup Buddy and BIMTECH on Road to Encourage Students to Join Startups

10 January 2019, Greater Noida: Startup Buddy (www.startupbuddy.co.in) and Atal Incubation Centre-BIMTECH (www.aicbimtech.com) joined hands together to create awareness towards the working culture of startups, among the new age managers in making, at Birla institute of Management of Technology, Greater Noida. This workshop took place at BIMTECH, under the aegis of the “Startup Internship Week”, an event being held from 1st to 3rd February 2019. This will witness participation from 25+ startups to offer summer internships to the students of BIMTECH. The workshop was conducted by CA Amit Singal (Founder, Startup Buddy), Mr. Bibin Babu (Founder, Blockspace) along with Dr. Abha Rishi (CEO, AIC-BIMTECH) and Mr. Chittransh Verma (AVP, AIC-BIMTECH) in the presence of Dr. Anupam Verma, Deputy Director and Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Chairperson, Centre for Corporate Relations, BIMTECH.

The main agenda of the workshop was to address the question in the hearts of the students about the comparison of the experience between working in startups and big corporate companies. The discussion went deep, with personal journeys being shared by the speakers, driving the learning point home. Dr. Abha Rishi comparing the startup ecosystem with a jungle where different animals from mice, gazelles to unicorns and elephants reside and the roles they play, in order for the students to differentiate between the stages of startups.

Mr. Chittransh Verma shared his experience of how working for 10 years in this environment has helped him grow in various industries in multiple roles. Mr Amit Singal gave tips to the students regarding how to identify a good startup to work with, and explained the benefits of working closely with the founders in a horizontal hierarchy. The workshop was concluded with Mr Bibin Babu asking the students to be brave in the choices they make, to not to be afraid to make mistakes and to be a part of a startup at least once in their life whenever they feel brave enough to do so.
