According to UNICEF, more than 50 million female infants have been culled at birth and have gone ‘missing’. There are also fewer women in the workforce. While many Indian women have entrepreneurial ambitions, it is often more difficult for them to succeed. The social entrepreneurship ecosystem has responded to this harsh environment spawning a variety of social businesses that strive empower women. Flora Fly provides self sustainable growth to women, by creating a livelihood through opening of shops. Flora Fly was launched on 29th Jan 2020. We are publishing an interview with Ms. Jyoti Verma – Founder and COO of Flora Fly.

Q.: What is the problem you are trying to solve? Please share with us any insights that led you to believe that this is a big enough problem?
Ans:
Women empowerment is the biggest problem in India and Flora Fly is solving it the base level.

Ans:

Q.: What is your USP?
Ans:
We are unique in the sense that we provide income source to the under privileged and deprived sector of the society. One more uniqueness to earn revenue through the consistent income from this.

How we earn
Flora Fly is generating revenue almost after inception . The main revenue Model consists of generating income through inventory management of the shops. These shops are opened by Flora Fly.

The inventory in the shops are managed by Flora Fly, for the span of three years. In this inventory is refilled on the monthly basis and designated commision is earned by Flora Fly.

More and more shops are opened under the umbrella of Flora Fly gives it sustainable income.

This is one sustaining factor and another is manufacturing of goods in coming future.

Q.: What were your assumptions when you entered the market, learning that you have? Who in your mind is your ideal customer? Do you have at least one of them signed up?
Ans:
The concept is unique and our market is monopoliastic.

Q.: What has been your biggest failure as an entrepreneur and what did you learn from it??
Ans:
We have just incepted as Entreprenuer and thus not faced any failure as such.

Q.: Please tell us about the investors (if any)
Ans:
We are bootstrapped.

Q.: Is there any interesting success story of your startup? If yes, please write about it. ?
Ans:
Yes, we have numerous of interesting stories. Flora fly helps to give a livelihood to women. We share some of the magnificent stories ❤️ from them.

How Flora Fly supported Akbari Bano❤️

Now, we read the emotional story of Akbari Bano. She had two daughters, elder one is Noshin Bano and the youngest is Noshiya Bano. After the conversation, Noshiya Bano tells their story,

She says,” My name is Noshiya Bano and I study in class 8th in the Government Senior Secondary School. Due to the monetary crisis, my mother wanted to open a cloth shop but she didn’t have any money to open it.

She further quips,” We were not being able to arrange money to start the shop, then my mother got to know about the Flora Fly. That helpful lady told us that Flora Fly is a team which helps a woman to start their own business. “

Then Noshiya said that Flora Fly team visited their home and explained how they help women, who wish to start their own business and now they are proud owners of the small garment shop.

Flora Fly helped them to achieve their dreams and become self-sustainable by providing loan from bank and guidance from the highly skilled team of Flora Fly.

Happy smiling story of Kalpana Devi ❤️

Let us go through the emotional and survival story of Ms Kalpana Devi.

Kalpana Devi, a middle-aged lady lives in Gurugram, Vimla Khedi. She lives with her small family which includes her husband and daughter. Her husband works in a private job. But due to insufficient income, her family is not living a normal life and are also deprived of basic needs like food and clothing.

In these negative circumstances, Kalpana thought of starting her business, which requires money and support. But she approached so many people, that was in vain. Suddenly, a ray of hope brightened for her, and during her meeting in ladies group, she heard of Flora Fly.

She approached madam from Flora Fly, and they assured to help her.

With immediate effect, a team from Flora Fly reached her and they wanted to incept the business providing monetary ( bank loan )and other support too. They helped her at every step and now she is happy and supporting her family too.

Kalpana started to weep and told her emotional story which comprises of burning of her hands during childhood. It left her unable to work in any place, either it is an export house or anywhere else. So, owing her business was like her dream and Flora Fly supported her at every step.

So, Flora Fly helped her acquiring a loan from the bank and start her Kirana shop.

After encouragement from Flora Fly, Kalpana Devi is earning her livelihood.

Flora Fly was hope for her and they helped and supported her.

“I am happy to earn my own living and stand on my feet” says Kalpana with smile.

Q.: What is the big picture of your startup? Is this Product/service leading to something bigger? If so, how?
Ans:
We wish to work PAN India for the welfare of women and help them achieve respectable stature in the society.

Q.: What message do you want to convey to fellow entrepreneurs?
Ans:
One thing we wish to say “Hardwork has no substitute.”
