Ace actor Harshvardhan Rane, well known for his Bollywood debut movie, “Sanam Teri Kasam”, lent his valuable support for planting trees across Mumbai to observe “World Environment Day”. The actor put his best foot forward, by planting saplings in Mumbai, in a campaign initiated by moneycontrol.com, India’s leading financial platform and crowdfunding platform, Impact Guru. Ideated by the financial platform and Crowdfunding platform, the campaign aimed at making the city green again, while benefitting the future generations. The campaign has been supported by CERE who will raise funds via Impact guru to plant a target of 5000 trees over a month-long campaign. To reach out to a larger audience and raise funds for the initiative, the campaign also invited support from city-dwellers.
The actor also spoke at length about the need for more greenery to cover the city, and urged everyone to do their bit towards the planet by planting more trees. Talking further and expressing gratitude on receiving a sapling as a token of appreciation, he said, “Just like we celebrate other festivities, World Environment Day too, should be observed and given due importance. I have always been pro- tree plantation, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. It is extremely essential for us to take due care of the planet we live on, which will also benefit our future generations. I am extremely delighted to be present here, and be a part of this wonderful initiative, I would urge more people to help raise fund for this campaign via Impact Guru and come plant more trees.”
Commemorating the campaign by planting saplings at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park on the first day, the month long campaign aims to reach the 5,000 mark, thereby preserving the green economy and limiting the overall carbon footprint.
