The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) in collaboration with Agrasar today organised a Partners Meet at Bhiwadi. Ormas has been the nodal agency for implementing wage employment based skilling program called Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) which aims to train rural youth and place them post training in various trades. The major objective of this meet was to bring various stakeholders like training providers, employers, candidates etc together not only for experience sharing between them but also to create a synergy overall giving a boost to skilling ecosystem in odisha.
Spearheading the event, Ms. Sanghamitra Nayak (Deputy Ceo, Ormas) said that ORMAS has been a pioneer in skill development domain. The state has already been ranked 1st in last 2 years and has been awarded by Govt of India for its efforts. Through its best practices and community driven approach, the State has been able to establish robust partnership between all stakeholders which results in effective results in DDU-GKY.
The partners added that such regular events exposes them to initiatives being taken by Government agencies implementing such skilling programs and also help them create linkages with industry leaders which helps them in placing their trained students which is the main mandate of DDUGKY. On the other hand, the potential employers are able to establish links with training providers from whom they could procure trained workforce in their desired trade.. Thus, these events play a significant role in creating bridges between different parties leading to effective implementation of the flagship program.
Skill division team leader Kumar Manish, Migration Support Centre officer Dhananjay Dwibedi and Communication Officer Gopal Panigrahi attended the meeting.
