New Delhi | 28th January 2020: Sanjeev Bikhchandani, past-President and current Board Member, TiE Delhi-NCR, has conferred upon the Padma Shri by the President of India. The award, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor, is conferred to individuals for distinguished services in their respective fields.
A key stakeholder and enabler of the Indian startup ecosystem, Sanjeev Bikhchandani is the pioneer of internet services in India. He is the founder of Info Edge operating portals for jobs (naukri.com), matrimony (jeevasathi.com), real estate (99acres.com) and education (shiksha.com). In his rich professional career spanning over three decades, he has nurtured entrepreneurship across the country. In addition, he has made strategic investments in two major unicorns of Delhi, Policybazaar.com and Zomato. He continues to serve the startup community in India as a former member of the Global Board of Trustees of TiE.
The Padma awards are conferred by the Government of India on Republic Day every year. Following the announcement by the Government on Saturday, TiE Delhi-NCR now has the rare privilege of hosting two members on its board, Sanjeev Bikhchandani and Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman Emeritus, TiE Delhi-NCR (awarded in 2016) distinguished with the prestigious Padma awards.
