New Delhi | 23rd April 2020: Amidst the extended nationwide lockdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic, tech-enabled D2C logistics aggregator Shiprocket has partnered with Dunzo, India’s leading on-demand delivery e-commerce app. The partnership will focus on Shiprocket’s recently launched hyperlocal delivery services for essential items such as groceries, pharmaceuticals, and food items.

With 1200 existing active sellers for hyperlocal services, the partnership provides extended delivery service which starts with a minimum range of 3 Km and a maximum of 15 Kms. Aimed at catering to small scale sellers, the hyperlocal delivery service will ensure that essential goods are delivered on the same day. The strategic partnership with Dunzo will ensure that small-scale sellers don’t lose out on business/customers due to delayed deliveries or unavailability of riders. Currently, the service is spread across more than 1600 pin codes in various cities such as Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur etc.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Saahil Goel, CEO, and Co-Founder of Shiprocket  said, “During this extended lockdown period, the need for essential items is only rising each day and e-commerce sellers are struggling to meet the demand and cater to customers quickly. Our hyperlocal delivery service will allow them to receive the goods on the same day and even connect with their customers through our app. We are delighted to partner with Dunzo and avail of the services of their fleet of experienced delivery executives. We are confident that the hyperlocal service will be popular even after the pandemic has passed and the world returns to normalcy, leading to sustained demand for our enhanced value proposition.”

Adding to this, Kabeer Biswas, CEO & Co-Founder, Dunzo said, “Across the country, there is an urgent demand for essentials. As Dunzo works with partners such as Shiprocket to ensure the essential demands of a city are met, this collaboration helps us deliver an exceptional customer experience that keeps customers safely indoors. With Dunzo partners braving the streets to complete last-mile deliveries, this partnership also empowers local and small business owners to overcome this crisis and continue to stay in business. We hope to keep the momentum of this collaborative effort going and help keep our cities safe.”

Incepted in 2016, Shiprocket works with MSMEs which operate in the e-commerce sector, providing shipments to around 220 countries across 26000 pin codes. Today, the brand has 1.5 lakh sellers on board and works with 15 courier partners.
