We are publishing an interview of Mr. Govind B. Moghekar, CEO & Founder, Shopho.
Govind Moghekar owns 4 Indian patents and working on product development & marketing strategies. He was founder of 2 IT companies in the past. He is passionate about his work & has core interest in Innovation. He has perfect leadership & negotiator skills. Recently, he was featured in Indian express, Times of India, Your story, India Today for his Innovations.
What is the problem you are trying to solve?
Shopho is marketing partner of several local brands. As of now we are working in food & beverage sectors. We are working from last 5-6 months with local brands. We realized after discussing with the that the local products have great potential as compare to national brands and their quality is good & costing or pricing is quite cheap. They are ready to give good margin for resellers but their biggest problem is they lack in marketing & branding of their products. They don’t know how to design packing or how to make it more attractive? By observing this, we started working on our platform which can help them to solve this problem & increase their sales locally as well as globally.
Shopho has two divisions one is digital & second is physical (Distribution Network) . In digital platform Shopho enlisted local brands with their company information & product brochure. Second is physical (Distribution Network) in that has networked of 800 local kirana stores & grocery malls. Shopho showcase new local brands with their margin details via Shopho Retailers monthly magazine. Shopho Retailer magazine distributed 1000+ grocery shops & Kirana store locally. It helps to get huge exposure for brands to their targeted customers. Grocery shops getting multiple product option with good margins so they can choose as per their interest & just call to Shopho. Once they called us for any product interest, we workout on distribution for this product with proper agreement with both parties and start selling products. This helps a lot for local brands to increase their sells to 5X times & other side local kirana stores got multiple option for same product with multiple margin option so they can choose.
Shopho now is early stage. We have started selling different brands with very good demand from local grocery shops. We are also working on digital platform where we plan to build franchise chain for local brand so that local brand can expand globally too. Till now we partner with around 40+ local brands. In last 2 Months Shopho sold products making revenue 2.5 lakhs & counting. Shopho focus on more brands on board & more local vendors will connect in Distribution Network. As of now we raised an angel investment from Shashikant Chaudhary (An Angel Investor from Nagpur). We plan to expand our operations in different cities soon.

Shopho is working as Marketing Partner for local brands & providing unique solution to increase their sales in real time.
What is the revenue model?
We have very simple & viable revenue model. We charge customers on every sale of their product through Shopho & second one for showcasing their brand at our monthly Shopho Retailer Magazine.
Who are the consumers that you are targeting? How is this going to affect them?
We are targeting local brands to increase their sales via local retailers & its very straight forward chain. Local brands are ready to supply their product locally with much ease & on other side local retailers get new option with better margin which affect of their growth of business, they starting earning more money.
What is the big picture of your startup? Will it lead to something bigger? If so, how?
India’s most part economy is depended on SME based products & local small medium sized business. Our picture is bigger like Shopho want to become the biggest platform for local brands. We will plan in next 2 years every local brand from every city associated with Shopho & we want to work with them as their Marketing Partner.

Shopho was started 4 months ago in very less capital around INR 20,000. We are working very hard from the beginning state of our venture. We are working ground level & understand local brand mentality. They are very good knowledgeable in their field. They are ambitious people but they are lack behind in marketing & sales. some of the brands are very happy now after they join Shopho. They express their feeling with us as their sell increase up to 5X & more through our Network. We also feel happy as we solve their problems & make them self dependent. We can say proudly say that we have vision to build Local India entrepreneurs towards big success.
